How many months...
Would you say is good for taking baby out to a local place to eat /coffee place with a gf?
Since I'm home on leave, a friend wants to meet up for lunch and/or coffee?
DS is 4 months now and no one can really watch him so I have to take him wherever I go.
Would you say around 6 months?

I started much earlier than that - I'd say around 2-3 months he went with us to restaurants, malls, etc. Prior to that, we'd go out to parks, etc.

With DD1 we were out and about around 3 weeks. DD2 it was about 2-3 weeks. I wouldn't even think twice. This is the rime to go out while they are little and don't need much!

How many months...
We went out to eat with DD2 at about 2 weeks. I used to bring her in the infant carseat. Go to a place that isn't very crowded and you can probably keep her in the stroller next to your table. My kids were happy to do that before they were old enough for the restaurant high chairs. But I would not put the car seat in a flipped over high chair. It's dangerous, but nearly every restaurant offered it.

How many months...
I'm very conservative with bringing out young babies (had my 5 week old admitted to the hospital with a fever, spinal tap, IV antibiotics, etc) and even I think 4 months is ok.
It really depends on what you're comfortable with and the baby's temperament though. Neither of mine were ever happy to just chill and sleep in a car seat or carrier, so I didn't enjoy bringing them places. DH and I could never grab a sit down meal out while the baby slept, like many people talk about . . . It was more like one of us eating as fast as humanly possible while the other tried to keep the baby from screaming. We had tough babies though. If yours is easy, then I'd say go!

I'm more worried about him not staying at the restaurant more than anything...but I'll see how he does!

I have taken both kids everywhere since birth. They are restaurant pros. Teach them from an early age ;)

This. We used the car seat cover a lot in the early days.

How many months...
From birth. And even dealing with what I'm dealing with wouldn't change my mind. Keep a blanket or something over the seat. Keep people away. But you can't be confined to your house. It's unrealistic.

DS was out and about from week 1. He wound up getting a cold from my DH at 6 weeks old. If I have another DC, I'd take them out right away as well.
