First, I can not believe the price-$175?! For those of you that have one, at what age did you buy and do they last? I would be so mad if this thing broke soon after buying it. My soon to be 5 year old really wants one for Christmas but I can't imagine spending that on just 1 gift!! I really hope the price goes down for black friday!!

Re: Barbie Dream House

I considered it last year for my DD's 5th birthday but went with a KidKraft one instead. For the same money, it's better quality (I've heard the Barbie house is not that great quality-wise) and I think it's probably bigger. I love it and my DD plays with it every day. Def worth the money. Chat Icon

I was looking at some of the Kidkraft houses but wasnt sure it would definitely fit barbies. Also when I showed my daughter her first comment was "where will the barbie park her car [actual barbie dream house has a garage]?" lol. She will get over it, especially if Kidkraft is such better quality!

We have one for DD who is 4, but it was given to us. I would never buy it, it is flimsy. BUT she LOVES it, plays with it every day.

I think the Kidkraft ones are soooo much nicer! And sometimes you can find lots of deals around the holidays. But it's true about the car, but just tell her she can park the car outside of the house. not everyone has the luxury of a garage lol!!

I just convinced my DD to go with the wooden ones. Toys rus has an imagnarium one on sale right now for $79 I think I might go with that one for her.

Re: Barbie Dream House

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!
I can't even begin to describe what a piece of Junk it is. I got a full refund from Mattel after 6 weeks because the whole thing kept falling apart. It took us 3 hours to put together and the damn elevator never worked properly. There are youtube videos dedicated to putting the house together. That should have stopped me in my tracks but my kids really wanted it. My girls did love it they were 2 & 4. At 3 weeks we had the whole thing was being held together with crazy glue and duct tape.

Santa is bringing a Kidcraft one for Christmas this year.

My DD has this found it in the garbage great quality holds up well. I also found barbie stuff to be flimsy. I went to target and got 2 white wooden shoe rack type things and put the doll house on top. You can park the car under or I got plastic tubs that fit under and she puts her dolls and accessories in them and they go under out of sight!

I just bought the Savannah Kidkraft dollhouse last week for DD for Christmas from Zulily. It came today and I can't wait for Christmas to give it to her. I heard way too many bad reviews about the Barbie Dream House to spend that kind of money on it. The Kidkraft ones come furnished too and seems way sturdier than the Barbie dream house.
