They haven't gone ahead yet to where they were living together with a kid, his book was a success, and he was arrested. The first episode basically flashbacked to post-Montauk where Noah and Allison were together BUT with Noah just going through his divorce and signing his new book deal. I guess it was catch everyone up on what happened after they went back to the city.

The jumped so much in season 1 they are now filling us in what happened in between. Love this show!
Maybe it was just my imagination, but when Noah came home and they showed Allison standing at the counter making dinner, I thought it kind of looked like she had a little baby bump. I don't know, it was hard to tell and they only showed her stomach for a few seconds.

Yes, there's a baby (it was shown at the last part of last season).
I hate how they jump around in the timeline. At the end of last season, they were in an NYC apartment when Noah got arrested. But in this season they're in a somewhat run down guest house. I guess Noah's book did well enough that they were finally able to afford to live in the city? The time line jumps seem unnecessarily confusing.

I don't think they are really jumping around, though.
There were always two different points in time. Most of the show is a flashback to the "past" (their first marriages to Helen and Cole) occasionally coming back to the "future" (last season being the detective's questioning and Noah's arrest in the finale.)
They are just continuing from each point.
The guest house upstate and the divorce are the (relative) immediate aftermath of the showdown out east at the end of Season One, while Noah being in the jail cell is the immediate aftermath of being arrested.
Eventually the past will catch up to the "future" as we started to view it in season one.

yes they were all bffs in college, there was episode last season when he went out to Montauk and they were all having lunch together and it was so obvious he was in love with her

That's one of the reasons I hate that they bounce around so much in the timeline. At some point, they made it seem like it had been a long time since she's seen Cole (when it was his point of view and he brought her the stuff). Since he saw the baby at the courthouse, I'm guessing that if he thought it was his, he would mention it.
Anyone notice how fantastic Noah is in his own point of view story (with his interaction with his ex and with Allison), but when both women have their point of view, he's an ass? Why would Allison still be with him? Cole was never mean to her - just lots of baggage from losing a child (although his family would've gotten on my nerves).

Some thoughts on this (and SPOILERS):
1. Noah is hot to many people, too. In a different way from Cole, and maybe not in everyone's opinion, but it's still the case for many.
2. Don't forget, Cole is a drug dealer. Also, we now know that he is a user as well. For obvious reasons, that is enough to make anyone who wants to live a normal life want to head for the hills. On top of that, she's got an alternative at the ready, someone else who is in many ways the antithesis of Cole, and therefore even more likely to appeal to her.
3. The heart wants what it wants and it doesn't always make sense.

Agreed and in addition to this, they lost a child. That is a darkness a person can never escape and every time she looks at him, she sees Gabrielle. If someone is trying to get past the death of their child, growing closer to someone that doesnt remind you of that, makes perfect sense.

What'd you think of the last episode? I Lol'd when Allison said that Noah was sweet and kind. I thought she was talking about a different person! Noah should take his friend's $10k since he's sleeping with his wife! And that teenaged daughter is definitely the most annoying character on the show!

Also when Cole came to see Allison she was worried he had a weapon on him. So I think maybe he was violent with her at times.

It was actually 50k 
and He did it for that reason...to get their Divorce FINAL and quickly.

I was just going to post the same thing.
It is sometimes hard to keep track of everything because it's given not only piecemeal but from different perspectives.
Since it was Cole's own wedding night along with a few other reasons, I doubt he killed Scotty. However, stranger things have happened, and I'm not sure we know enough to even make an educated guess yet. I believe it's speculation at this point - unless of course you are looking at the circumstantial evidence, which all points to Noah.
They wouldn't have arrested Noah if they hadn't cleared Cole, but what remains to be seen is who, if anyone else, was ever a suspect before Noah got arrested, and what became of that.
I enjoy this show more and more every week.

If Noah and Allison were at Coles wedding together, then wouldn't they have left together, even if they we're fighting? Maybe Allison could have been the one driving, if Noah had been drinking a lot.
