No tears when baby cries
My granddaughter is 4 mos. old. My daughter noticed that when she cries, she doesn't have any tears. She took her to the pediatrician today. She needed a shot so the dr. Said when she cries after the shot she'll see her eyes. Well, she didn't cry! She suggested my daughter take her to a pediatric opthamologist. Has anyone had this with their baby? Not sure what it could be. She doesn't have any mucous or discharge coming from her eyes. She has an appt. in a few weeks.

DS didn't have tears when he was little but I don't remember when he started to have tears. DD is 11 weeks now and I haven't seen tears yet. I think it's normal.

I'm pretty sure by 4 months you should see tears. I remember when my kids were first born they cried with no tears but by the time they were just a few weeks old they had tears.

Could it be possible that the baby has clogged tear ducts? My first had it in one eye so she had no tears out of the eye when she cried

One of mine didn't have tears for the longest time. I remember seeing a baby 1 week older and he had tears from the beginning. Took months for her to get tears

Not sure, definitely get it checked out, but I have never had tears when I've cried my entire life. Eye doctors just say I have dry eyes, but my eyes don't bother me ever. I don't need to use drops or anything.

DS didn't have tears till about 4/5 months. It could be normal. De is almost 5 months old and we're just starting to see tears now.
