How much data a month do you use on phone?

I just switched to Verizon, got iphone for me and DH on family plan. I never went over 1GB a month and in a week already I am at almost 2GB. I don't understand. How much do you use? I don't do much on my phone other than check email, web search. I did use Waze for a bit yesterday. I also have problems figuring out how to turn Waze off when I get to destination.

My dh and I use way too much. We use at the minimum 10GB. Usually closer to 12. It's insane

I don't know how people use so much data. Dh and I share the smallest amount and hardly use even that but neither if us use our phones much when we're out.

Same thing happened to me but now I have it under control. I was less than 1GB per month before my new iphone then the first week I got it I used 1.5GB! Verizon told me its because the new phones "do more" so you end up using more. (My former phone was so old it did nothing).

You have to set it up so you automatically connect to wifi wherever possible. If you have optimum at home then you can connect for free to tons of wifi spots everywhere. Also if you watch videos or tv shows without wifi that will eat all your data in 1 day. For facebook turn settings so that videos wont play unless you are connected to wifi.

Hardly any because when I'm home I connect to our WiFi. We have the 2GB plan with Verizon and we don't even come close to using it up each month. I only use use 4G when I am out and can't get a good connection to free WiFi in the area.

DH and I share 4gb, and we use about 2-ish. Only because I stream pandora during my commute.
At home and at our friend's house we connect to Wi-Fi.
Checking e-mail and surfing the web I do when on Wi-Fi.

I don;t track because we have unlimited with T mobile but before we switched we would use about 2.

it's definitely because of waze. if that is left running, you can run up alot of data

i use close to about 10 GB but I have unlimited and rarely connect to WiFI. I watch tons of shows on my phone so I know that's why I use much. DH use at least 5GB and sometimes goes over it he claims he uses WiFi and doesn't watch videos when he is no but clearly that is not the case

I have 15GB on my plans which includes 3 cell phones me DH & my nephew plus an IPaid. We come pretty close to using up all our data every month.

DH and I share 4GB between us. I use maybe 1 GB, if that, because I am connected to wifi at home and at work. DH is the one who eats up the majority of the data. Sometimes we are close to using it all each month because of him.

ETA I def think the waze is eating up your data. Also make sure if you are on facebook, etc. that you have auto play for videos disabled.

We have a 15gb plan and use close to that. Not sure how. I'm connected to WiFi most of the day, except during my commute and when we are out during the weekend, but I don't use my phone as much when we are out during the weekends. We have 3 phones and a rarely used iPad on our plan. 1 of the phones is limited to 1.5g of data, because we pay for our Au pair's phone.

Couple of 100MB per month. I use wifi everywhere. Home is always wifi. Work is wifi. I don't touch the phone while I'm driving. Many of my activities are in or around our schools, so they have wifi.
I use plenty of data, just all on wifi.

3-5 usually. I have 6gb.

Before moving office locations, I was always on wifi. Now our new office doesn't have it so I use significantly more data.

DH and I shared 2 GB and we rarely if ever get near 0.05 GB of data on a monthly basis. We are always connected to WIFI - at home, at work, or Optimum when we are out and about.

is something on in the background? waze could be a huge culprit, facebook, those stupid instant videos, i had to change settings on those 2 apps.

DH and I used to use about 2 gigs a month. Definitely connect to wifi at home, saves a bunch or when you're at work. Also make sure there aren't any background apps running, that's a huge killer of data.

Also as a previous poster stated make sure your FB settings have videos only start while on wifi.

I have unlimited data on sprint I'm close to 3G a month I do use my phone for personal and work so I am on it a good amount I don't use music apps though

Waze is a navigation app. It's always running if you don't change settings. It's a blue square with a white car that looks like a ghost lol I don't think it's just on your phone. I believe you have to dl it. Go into the App Store. Maybe it's there.
