Cablevision vs. Fios

We are closing on Thursday and I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row with services we will need.

I know our new area is wired for Fios (that's what the homeowners now have) and I assume we can also go with Cablevision.

Which one is better IYO? They are currently running similar offers. TIA.

This!!! We have fios. My parents and in laws both switched to cablevision for a short time and realized how terrible it was and switched back to fios. Even if they were a bit more money, I'd choose fios.

I'm paying literally twice as much for FIOS as I would for Cablevision (my 2-year promo price is over, and they extended it for a year when I threatened to cancel, but now that's up too), but I don't care. I'm never going back.

Ditto
On principle alone
I'd even pay MORE for Fios just to stick it to the Cablevsion empire.

Re: Cablevision vs. Fios

Not a fan of FIOS. They are more expensive than CV and the service isn't any better. No News12. After I cancelled my small business account with fios before my trial ended, I started getting all sorts of scam yellow pages bills in the mail. Verizon must have shared my info.

Then I had all sorts of billing issues with Verizon after the fact. They wanted to charge me $150 for service when I was still in trial. Took three separate phone calls to get it fixed.

Re: Cablevision vs. Fios

In general we have much better service with FIOS. Our internet/cable boxes would have to rebooted on a regular basis with CV and that has yet to happen with FIOS. They also recently added their own version of News 12 so I don't feel like I am missing out there.

Cablevision vs. Fios

My landlord just switched from FIOS to Cablevision and I want to cry lol. FIOS has so many more stations in their mid package. My favorite channels like DIY, UP, ect are in a higher package with Cablevision and we don't get them anymore.

Fios!! CV is the worst. My cable was constantly going out/re-booting. So frustrating. I have zero issues with Fios.

I haven't had any problems that everyone is speaking of with Cablevision. Then again I've never had Fios to compare.
It may depend on the area.
My parents have some issues with freezing and skipping on one of their TVs with CV but their wiring is super old an split like 5 times.

FIOS! We love it and would pay triple the price just to never have to deal with Cablevision again.
