Does anyone just not participate in Super Bowl?
I feel like I just want to boycott this year.
I am not a football fan. As a matter of fact, I actually cannot STAND it to the point where if it's in the room I want to walk out. I just can't even stomach the sound of it.
We are always invited somewhere and I usually go out of obligation, but it's late on a Sunday night, I have to work the next day, my DD gets cranky by half time and all i want is to be home, on my couch, in sweats, and watching my own TV shows.
I don't care about the commercials, I don't care to participate in pools, I don't even care about the food- and that is HUGE for me because I'm a food junkie. I just don't even feel like socializing on a Sunday night at that hour.
I just want no part of it. I wish DH would just go with his friends and watch it somewhere and leave me and DD home to do our own thing.
Yet everywhere I look, it's all i have heard about since the Christmas season ended. Superbowl this, Superbowl that, what should I make, what should I bring, etc etc.
So I guess I am the only party pooper who would rather watch a bad Lifetime movie that night.
Does anyone else feel this way? Or am I really the only freak who hates our new national pastime?

Does anyone just not participate in Super Bowl?
I could go either way but, most of DH's friends wives are in the leave it category - so the boys usually just do something together.

I hate it, too. I hate anything that takes place on a Sunday night when I have work the next day. But, I have a special hatred for spending my Sunday night watching football, which I consider the dumbest of all sports. And everyone else loves it and I question what it is they do at work all day on Monday to be able to stay out drinking till after midnight.
I hope DH is going somewhere.

we stay home and order pizza and wings . i dont watch it/dont care about football or even the commercials but im in it for the food. and dh doesnt like going out sunday nights because of work.

I don't watch the game or commercials. I've stayed home before while DH goes to a party. Some years WE have a little party, and again I don't even look at the tv. I'm busy cooking, drinking, hanging out, or outside with the kids. If by chance I happen to tune in, it's because I wanna see if I won any boxes. Other than that I could care less about football or the Super Bowl.

I don't participate in the Super Bowl usually. There have been a few years I have gone to parties, but I try not to. Don't like being out on Sunday night and I can't stand football!

I LOVE foobtall, so I always enjoy the super bowl.
I hate both teams, so don't really care who wins. I'll watch though. I find super bowl parties annoying because everyone is talking and I want to watch the game.
I think we'll probably just stay home and watch this year.

DH doesn't watch football and I love to gamble so I always try to get in on a football pools that's really all my involvement is for the super bowl. we watch it but have no problem putting something else on if we don't feel like watching it at the moment.
we don't do parties and I just get food for our house 
if I was you I would just send DH and tell him to have a good time and you will see him later. if anyone thinks your a ***** for not going f-them.

I've never been to a Super Bowl party. I usually work that day, just by coincidence. I never realize that it's Super Bowl Sunday, because that's how little I care and put myself on to work thinking it's just some random Sunday. I try to work Sundays during football season so that I don't have to be bothered by DH trying to watch games. DH hates that I work it because he wants to go to the party that his friends have every year. Luckily, it's a guy's party that no women attend so I'd stay home with the kids.
I guess this is the only time that having the option of working weekends is a good thing.

You are not alone. I hate football and have less than zero interest in the game or the Super Bowl. Thankfully, my DH feels the same way and Super Bowl Sunday is a non-event to us. I don't even know when the Super bowl is.

I always thought the Superbowl was considered a national "holiday" only because its the Superbowl. As far as socializing on a Sunday night, that wouldn't bother me. I have always gone to gatherings or events that took place on a Sunday. I got married on Sunday during the spring, & had a packed guest list. If having work the next day bothers me, I either take the day off or go in late.
But if you are more comfy watching the game from home, then that's what I would do.

However the last 2 years my bf wants me and my DDs with him when he goes to his friends party! Its 40 min away so i leave at half time!

DH and I watch it at home. I don't like going out because of work the next day. DH will go and watch a game (football, hockey) at the bar, but for superbowl he would rather stay home.
I make food to pick on instead of a regular dinner, and we both watch in comfy sweats.

DH and I avoid it like the plague. We usually see a movie but this year we'll probably stay home and rent one since we have DD.
