TSA Precheck
Has anyone enrolled in the the precheck program? I have an appointment for the in-person enrollment and was just wondering if anyone knew what to expect, how long it takes, etc.

i havent yet. but my friend has and said its 15 min. they just ask where you have traveled outside the us. and take your fingerprint and picture. they do a backround check before they contact you to come in for the interview. they check to see if you are under criminal investigation, can verify that you are a us citizen.. nothing terrifying.

TSA Precheck
It's actually a joke. I was expecting something much more in depth or detailed. It took less than 10 minutes. The hardest part was finding the bazaar location I picked.

Its pretty awesome, its called global entry.
Its 100 dollars and lasts 5 years.
It automatically qualifies you for TSA Precheck which is for domestic flights.
If you have a platinum amex they reimburse you the 100 dollars.
There is a separate line at most Major Aiports for TSA precheck. You do not have to take off shoes, belts, light jackets like blazers, you don't have to take your laptop out of the case or your liquids from your 1 quart bag out of your carryon.
You also do not have to go through body scanner just metal detector.
Coming back from out of the country you will see a blue sign saying global entry, there are kiosks there where you scan your passport take your picture and scan your fingerprints. You then walk up to the counter and breeze through customs.
Then after you get your luggage you have a separate entrance to exit JFK, than people without global entry

Wow, that is pretty convenient!
I just hope they really do pre-screen the people they allow to do this because it's a little scary that by paying $100 you can get lesser security screenings.

Sometimes the airlines give it to their frequent fliers too. Security was letting those with kids use the TSA precheck line in orlando last May. Was really nice not to have to open anything, take your shoes off etc. Very fast.
