Your Christmas Tree

Not starting drama, just curious how many people have "real" and "artificial."

Mine is fake....I would prefer real, but I'm too lazy to clean up the needles!

Re: Your Christmas Tree

My logic with all three zillion decorations that we've managed to collect is this: if im gonna lug that stuff and make pretty little displays all over, I'm putting them up the minute thanksgiving is over and they ain't coming down til January 6th. a real tree would never make it -so prelit artificial it is

Plus it makes me sad when I see them all at the curb after Christmas

I do Love real trees though. Annoying needles and all. Growing up, we always had real trees

Re: Your Christmas Tree

Fake. I can't go through the trouble of a real tree. DH brings it up from the basement which takes 2 seconds, it's prelit, we just add ornaments & the star on top & good to go. We also leave it up for a month and a half at least, so a real tree wouldn't last.

Your Christmas Tree

Fake.
I like to put it up at the start of Advent and keep it up until Jan 6. Can't do that with a real tree since they dry out so quickly.

Re: Your Christmas Tree

we have a real tree. we usually get it around the 2nd weekend in december or later. a year or two we bought it dec 23 and it was hard to find. i like to keep it up until jan 7, but other people in the house are sick of the tree by jan. 1st and it is in the garbage.

Your Christmas Tree

Real. We don't put up a tree every year because we usually travel for the holidays. I'm so freaking excited I get to put up a tree this year!

Both

Real in the Family Room
Fake in the Dining Room (my ornaments can be heavy, so the fake trees support them better.)

Re: Your Christmas Tree

Fake. Had a real for many years but the pros outweigh the cons with a fake for us right now.
I can get a pine candle if I really want the smell. lol

Your Christmas Tree

Real. We always cut ours down ourselves the weekend of thanksgiving and it always lasts and looks just as good as the day we got it. We take it down New Years day. Always very little needles on floor too. Cutting down your own is a big diff than getting them from a nursery where the tree had already been cut down for weeks.

Dh loves real trees, especially the smell of them, so for our first five Christmases as a married couple we had a real tree. I like the smell too, but it was a pain to clean up the needles and I didn't like how it was already drooping by Christmas.

Now that we have a young child, I can't be bothered to clean up after a real tree, and I don't want to take the time to decorate a tree for just a couple weeks, so we've been putting up a fake tree since dd was born 2 years ago. This year we bought pine scented wax for our wax warmer so the house will still smell like a real tree. But I love that by using a fake tree we can have the tree up for much longer.
