Which would you pick?
We are going to get both of our boys the iPad mini as their big Christmas gift. Both a Target and Walmart will gave it for essentially $169, but they're offering it differently.
Walmart us selling it for $199 and a $30 gift card. Target is selling it for $249 and an $80 gift card. I would prefer having the Target gift cards, but it initially is $100 more out of pocket. Which would you choose?

I think I would still get it at Target. I just am not a fan of Walmart.
How did you find out about the giftcard? I was on there this morning looking at the same thing but didn't see it.

I personally would go with Walmart, less out of pocket, and you aren't forced to spend another $80 only in their store. Of course that's not hard at Target. If you are going to Target anyway, and have other things to buy there that day, I would just do the Target deal though. Walmart has an in stock guarantee though, not sure if Target does, but I don't think so.

Which would you pick?
If you have a RedCard (either debit or credit), will you get 5% off at Target? If so, definitely Target. For me, I don't shop at Walmart, so I personally would choose Target.

Target. I shop there ALL the time so the gift card wouldn't go to waste. Plus you get the 5% off with the Red Card too!

Target! I hate going to Walmart. Sure I could find stuff there, but half the time it's just a pain and waste. GC at Target is never a bad thing.

I would probably go with Target after my recent Walmart experience. I ordered the IPad Air2 from Walmart which came with $100 gift card. Was in stock for pick up when I ordered. Next day I get an email canceling it because they are unable to fulfill it. Not the first time I've had that kind of problem at Walmart..

Definitely Target. I would much rather shop there and would use the GC in no time. The walmart GC would probably sit in my wallet for a year or more before I ever went there to shop

I didn't think this worked if you are paying with a gift card though, don't you need to pay with the red card?

You'd get 5% off the initial purchase of the iPad.
To answer the OP, I'd more likely use a Target GC since I shop there regularly. I could spend $160 at Target running in for some milk

5% off when you buy the iPad..........unless electronics are excluded from their Red Card discount at purchase.

Although i mostly shop at Target, I still go to Walmart for specifics items. I would get it at Walmart because it's less out of pocket expense, especially since I was buying two.
