Did you put the new baby in "the nursery" or into another bedroom?
I feel like DD1's bedroom is HER room, not "the nursery". However, it is smaller (so she could move to the bigger room), we would have to take apart the crib to move it for the other kid, its closer to our bedroom

Now i'm just not sure. What did you do?

ETA to clarify: Each kid will have their own room. Just, do I leave DD1 in her current room and move the crib out or move DD1 into the other bedroom and leave the crib for DC2

I would leave her in her room to limit the amount of changes she'll be dealing with

We are moving her. She's getting a "big girl room" - she will be 3 when the baby arrives and the Chat Icon baby will go into the Chat Icon nursery!

Same. DD was 1.5 when her sister came along; DD2 was 3 when the baby brother arrived and she moved in with DD1. DS is the permanent resident of the "nursery!"

Well we only have 2 bedrooms so she will be keeping her room and the new baby will sleep in our room. I think if we had another bedroom I'd keep it how it is though and let her keep her own room

When you had #2...

I have 4 bedrooms upstairs- mbr, a huge bedroom, ds1's room, and the smallest bedroom. Ds2 will be in the smallest bedroom because the other choice is bigger than the mbr. I wouldn't move ds1.

DS #1 stayed in the same room. I consider that his room and didnt want him to feel like "his room" was being given to the baby. We moved the crib out but the rest of his furniture stayed.

My DD stayed in her room when the baby was born, but she already had the bigger room to begin with. DS went into the smaller, extra bedroom.

When you had #2...

We have 3 kids and we have always kept the nursery a nursery. So about a month before our second was born, we moved our first into his own "big boy room," and picked a theme he loved. We did the same for our second when we were expecting our third.

We moved DS to a new bedroom 2 months before DD came along. It's actually a smaller bedroom but he didn't even notice or care. We did it in a Spiderman theme and he loves it!!

Re: When you had #2...

when we had DD2, we kept DD1 in her crib in her room. DD2 stayed in our room for about 9 months or so, then we temporarily moved her into the guest room in a pack and play because i didn't feel like DD1 was ready to move rooms and into a big girl bed (she was 2.5 at the time). when DD2 was 1 and DD1 was 3 we moved them both into their forever rooms and it was a very smooth transition. highly recommend waiting

I think it depends on your kid. When we had DD2 we moved DD1 to a new room, but she never slept in her crib and had no attachment to her nursery. She was excited to get a new room and a big girl bed.

it's interesting to see everyones opinion.

I never really though of it as a nursery, I picked out everything in that room for my daughter. So to me it is her room. I think I will keep her there.

Thanks!
