3yo DS constantly whines/cries for TV

We try to limit screen time to one show for each child per day. Either before or after dinner, each child gets to pick one show.

3yo DS is obsessed with tv and is constantly whining and crying for tv. When his tv show is up, he throws a full on tantrum for another show.

Does anyone else have a similar problem?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I wish I had the answer. My DS1 is obsessed too. Recently he was introduced to video games and became obsessed with that. I let him play now once a week.

I often say my 4 you needs show rehab. When it gets bad, I cut it off completely and just let her whine.it's hard though because my husband often gives in.

I don't have this behavior with the TV, but for sure over other things.

We work on that crying tantrum behavior. If she acts that way, she looses the privilege the next day. She does it again, the same rule applies, the next day no privilege. This worked for us. We have set backs, but she understands that she can talk to me about how she wants the privilege, or misses it but no screaming and crying scenes.
