Pacifier

My first daughter lost her pacifier right after her 1st birthday and now my second daughter will be 1 on the 15th. My second daughter was never really attached to it so last night I decided to take it away and she feel asleep all night without it and took naps today without it and now she is sleeping. My sister made me feel so bad bc she is still a baby.... Is she too young? Chat Icon

no way, if she is doing fine, better to take it now before it becomes a problem! Coming from a mom whose son had his until 3.5 and my 17m old DD currently still has one Chat Icon

Nah! She's fine. Especially since she didn't seem to miss it. I took mine away at 7 mo bc they kept waking and couldn't find them. Mama needed sleep and 10 wake ups a night weren't cutting it.

Yeah I took my sons away at 4 months cause I got sick of replacing it every 45 minutes. So I guess I'm really mean lol.

My pediatrician wanted it gone by 8 months, the latest. He explained that it can ruin their embouchure and dental alignment, causing bigger problems later on!
I think I got so spooked, that at 5 months, it was gone. I only used it during naptime and bedtime, and only baby J wanted it. Baby I spit hers out after two weeks.

No ! Some kids never take it so it's not too young! I just took my 2 yr olds away. I was anticipating crying and a fight but after she saw it broke, she willingly threw it in the garbage. So crazy! Better sooner than later Chat Icon

If she's not looking for it, how is that mean?? It's fine, at 1 yr old they don't have the need to suck anymore, it's just habit.
