The puddle jumpers are awesome. I can't remember the weight on it but dd used it under the weight with no problems. Obviously someone was always with her.

Re: Flotation device for the pool

From 30 lbs up definitely the Puddle Jumper! Love that thing.
Dd didn't hit 30 lbs until after 3 but ever since then it's all we use

DD is around 28 pounds and does great the in the puddle jumper. The weight limit says 30 pounds but it's just tight enough for her.

We use the Puddle Jumper & love it. Dd started with it last year at 27-28lbs...it still fit her tightly.

Re: Flotation device for the pool

Just FYI: my DD had a Puddle Jumper on last week, and fell backward off the pool steps into the shallow end of the pool (she wrestled out of DH's hand) and under she went! DH jumped and grabbed her, but she took in a great deal of water, was gagging up water, and not really moving any air when he first got her out. I had to turn her over and make her cough to get the water out. I'm going back to my USCG-approved life vest.

ETA: she is 5, and about 42lbs, so in the right range for the Puddle Jumper. BUT, prior to that, she was great with it the whole day!

That's scary, glad she's ok!

The Puddle Jumper IS Coast Guard Approved, though. I think you can still inhale water if you fall in the pool, no matter what you're wearing-SO scary!

Re: Flotation device for the pool

My son kept flipping forward in the puddle jumper at 27 lbs. So I used a one piece suit with a built in tube. He was great in that... You can even put the arm floaties on with it.
