Still no baby

So I am 41w tomorrow and no baby yet or contractions. Saw the Dr today and my cervix is still closed Chat Icon so they are inducing me. I am going into the hospital tomorrow night Chat Icon
I am really nervous.
BDDT'ers how did your inductions go? I was told as my cervix is closed at night i will be inserted with either some med in there or a catheter. Then once my cervix has relaxed the next morning they will give me Pitocin. Does this also mean i will be in the hospital 3 nights (assuming everything goes well)?

Had a super easy induction! 10 hrs from being admitted to having my son! Go in with a positive attitude- I feel like that helped me so much! Good luck!!!!!

Re: Still no baby

I had a successful induction. Actually almost a year ago to the day. I did not go in the night before for the cervadil, most of my friends did though. I had a "favorable" cervix so I didn't need it. I was dilated at all but I was almost fully effaced.

7am checked into hospital
940am started pitocin
215pm 4cm and got the epidural
720pm still at 4cm, now I start to panic. Dr manually broke my water and it very rapidly progressed from there
915pm 7cm
1040pm threw up (transitioning), fully dilated and started to push
11:37pm dd arrives!

Oh and I was there 3 nights. If you deliver past 9pm that night doesn't count did was born Friday night and we went home Monday morning. I was given the option to leave Sunday but we liked being in the hospital when both me and dd were in the best care.

Easy induction here!

7 pm: Checked in to hopsital

10 pm: Cervidil inserted, 1 cm dialated, ~60% effaced

3 am: 2 cm dialted, 100% effaced

Little after 6 am: Started pushing

6:37: DD born

Didn't need Pitocin…apparently I had "Super Cervidil" as the nurses called it Chat Icon

not sure what you mean about cervadil. it feels like velcro going in. after that you don't feel it.

They let you sleep. They gave me a sleeping pill, but i only wanted to take half of it. Thank goodness because i went into labor at 4am from the cervadil. They checked me around 6am because i swore i had to be almost fully dialated. otherwise they would have waited. The worst part is being hooked up to the band that sits around your belly to monitor the baby's heartbeat. It kept falling out of place on me and the nurse had to keep coming back in to fix it. Oh and you needed to be unhooked from the iv fluids to go to the bathroom. Try not to be too scared. It really is going to be fine!

They only checked me once and that was when I asked to be checked at 3 a.m. because I could've sworn I was far along, but no, only 2 cm lol. My contractions were really strong and close together though. Then I progressed from 2-10 in 3 hours.

I was scared too…you'll be fine. Good luck!! Chat Icon

I did not have a successful induction and wound up with a c-section (which went great). I had cervadil, then the next morning, pitocin. The pitocin did not work and I never dialated past 1cm. Once the baby's heartrate starting going up and down, we decided on the c-section. good luck
