We're homeowners! Rave for Christine Braun!
My DH and I closed on our house last week and wanted to do a review of the people we used.
Agent: Christine Braun - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
When we started this process we knew absolutely nothing. NOTHING. We made the mistake of engaging an agent that we met at an open house. From that point on she was a nightmare. She showed us houses out of our price range, didn't explain comps, pushed us to bid on houses that were way overpriced, etc. Needless to say we were really frustrated and disappointed. I came on here a lot to ask questions and get suggestions. Christine responded to every post I made and every FM I sent her. She never once asked us to work with her. She just did it out of the goodness of her heart and her desire to help us out. I was blown away by the detail she put into every response (we ALL see it here on the home board!! She takes her time to respond to every post). She already spent more time answering our questions and guiding us than the agent we were working with did. Christine was very upfront with us and told us she hadn't sold a house in our area. It didn't even make me blink. Her expertise in first time buying, the closing process, analyzing comps, etc. made me want to work with her. We hired her without reservation! I had already done the research for my area and knew where we wanted to live (down to the specific street/neighborhood). We needed Christine to guide us through the process (negotiating, closing, etc). She worked with us as a buyer's agent. She was incredible. She was so patient, reassuring, and helpful. She was always in constant communication with us via email and text. If I texted her at 10 pm she got back to me ASAP! Incredible! Other agents we sent inquiries to were less than helpful and very egotistical (wanted to talk themselves up rather than offer suggestions or help). We chose Christine because of her warmness, modesty, honesty, and willingness to work with us without a contract. She knew the area wasn't in her wheelhouse and told us that if she couldn't be of help we could choose to work with someone else. I cannot recommend her enough. She has the patience of a SAINT for dealing with the seller's agent and our atty! She made getting our dream house a reality. Thank you Christine!
Inspector: Housemaster - SORT OF RECOMMEND
We used them because my MIL knew a friend who used them. I wouldn't necessarily recommend them. Our guy was a total nerd and seemed to be very into home inspections...but I was annoyed that he did NOT go on the roof and I question what he actually DID for the termite inspection. Also, after looking at his report, his write up didn't seem to match what he told me while doing the walk through. They did however get the report to me via email in less than 24 hours.

Another choice of my MIL (based on her friend's recommendation). We dealt with Mark Mandell. He runs the firm with his son. I cannot even BEGIN to explain all of the errors that were made by him throughout the process. These included putting the wrong names on documents, putting in an additional $48k charge (!), being less than responsive to emails, etc. He was incredibly rude and condescending to our family during the closing - unbelievable considering he charges $5k for his services. I hope I save someone from using their services. We are STILL dealing with errors that he made on various documents.
5k for real estate transaction fees is criminal. That is absolutely insane. You can find a very good attorney that would do the same thing for $1000 contract to closing.
