Small SUV good on gas
We already have the sienna so we need a small SUV as a second car. Dh is looking to trade his in. What's a decent SUV with great mpg?

I have a Jeep Cherokee and love it.
I was nervous at first about the gas, but commuting back and forth from SS/Western Suffolk to the NS/border of Queens 5 days a week, I only use 1/2 tank of gas, believe it or not.
I use the eco button when I'm on the highways.
I used to have a CX9 and was filling up every 3-4 days.
You could also check out the brand's smaller SUVs.
I think Jeep also has great lease deals in general, if that's something you're interested in.
The dealership I used threw in more mileage then I had previously + the scratch/dent option and I'm paying almost $100 less a month than my last lease.
ETA: I have the Grand Cherokee, not the smaller one that looks like a crossover.

Dh is going on about Kia sport age and sorrento. Their gas looks terrible IMO...

Suburu forester. My mom just got the '14 and it averages about 30 miles per gallon.

We have the jeep patriot which I think is basically the same. We've been very happy with it.
Check out fueleconomy.gov to compare mpg.

We have the Ford Escape and it's one of the best on gas. Plus we really like the car and would definitely buy Ford again.

i have a Rouge and i fill up every 2 weeks. i get about 184 miles (local) before i fill up, i get more when i highway drive

I find this site very helpful.. you can search by type of car or compare specific models side by side to see mpg and other features at a glance.

We rented this truck when we took a trip with the kids...the gas was amazing!

This! My family has 3 Escapes and just got rid of our 4th one (over 100000 miles). Great on gas and in the snow. In one tank I get about 350 miles until empty.

We had a Forester and it was great on gas. The only reason why we didn't get another one is that we needed something roomier (it was our main car).

Thanks for the recommendations I saw th kias yesterday. The sport age was awesome if there are no kids. Loved it! Sorrento is better for the family but has no trunk. Especially when 3rd row is up.

FYI- if you YouTube a car and put every man driver at the end. It gives you a detailed video about all cars.

I have the Toyota Rav4 V6 Limited and I LOVE it. I've had mine for a few years now with no issues.
For an SUV, it's actually really great on gas. I use to drive it from Stony Brook to Flushing and given the distance, I really didn't have to fill up all that often.
