Long Island breweries/beer places for 30th
I'm trying to plan DHs 30th birthday in June. While I have the option of doing it at our house, I was thinking it may just be easier to do it at a place. Were both huge craft beer fans, so I'd like to center it around that.
Any ideas for places? I emailed blue point, and am waiting to hear back
It will be 20-25 people, and were located in eastern nassau.

There is a place in Hauppauge- Tap and Barrel
Great craft beer- but a little seedy atmosphere wise.
BUt for a private party- it might be fine.

Tap & Barrel - This is my favorite because they have amazing craft beers on tap. AND they clean their lines regularly so I don't get any headaches!

John Harvard's Brewery- they have a perfect room in the back for a party your size! It is by the Lake Grove Mall in Smithtown/StonyBrook area. and the food is delicious!!!
Have you been to Blue Point? It is small with no place to sit, unless they have the picnic tables set up outside, but it's not an attractive place and I don't believe you can rent it out so then with everyone else there it can be kind of a pain to have a party. I would look elsewhere.
If not John Harvard's then I would suggest looking into the Brickhouse Brewery, I think they also have a room but they have a ton of space, it looks nice and they do a lot of parties. The Brickhouse Brewery is in Patchogue.
There is also Croxley's Ale House.

Brickhouse is really nice and food is great!
I agree that Blue Point is a little "ugly" but the guys are super, super nice and will talk beer all day if that's what your DH is into.

Thanks everyone! I forgot about great South Bay. Some of these are a little far, but I'm looking into quite a few of them.
We actually really liked blue point-and it really wasn't that different from many craft breweries we've been to all over the country-a lot of them have a laid back grungy hippy vibe to them.

My husband is huge into craft beer and his favorites are:
Blue Point
Greenport Harbor
Great South Bay
Port Jeff Brewery
Brickhouse Brewery
Oyster bay also has a brewery he is trying to get to.
Also Brooklyn Brewery is obviously in Brooklyn, but my husband loves it there. There is also a bar nearby called "Barcade" they have craft beer and all old school video games. He goes there with a roll of quarters and has a blast.

Try Great South Bay for sure. They completely renovated their tasting room recently at their new place and it's HUGE! The guys that work there are such great people. I'm sure they can work something out with you.
Greenport is my favorite but I think you said that might be too far? If you've never been, definitely make it a point to get there! The tasting room is on the 2nd floor of an old firehouse. The tasting room is just so cute and the beers are crazy good!

thats a brewery opening soon in farmingdale.... it should be open in june

I love the Good Life in Massapequa. They have a really nice beer selection, and the food is pretty good, too. I'm not sure if that is what you are looking for, though.
