I have very dense\solid boobs so I thought how on earth are the gonna be able to squish them without killing me? But it wasn't a big deal.
It's just another thing that needs to be done

I am a DD and it killed me..More my left then my right. I have dense breasts which made them do a sonogram. So glad they did because my mammo came back negative. it was the sonogram that found a 7mm tumor. Had to have that Biopsy..now that was one of the most painful things I have ever had done!!

Not painful at all for me. Pls don't let fear keep you from getting it done! Just let the technician know its your first and they will be gentle handling the girls...

As I said in my blog about my experience of having breast cancer....if this were a machine that was used to squash testicles for cancer screenings, the medical community would have come up with something that was a little kinder to the...area.

Do mammograms hurt?
Mine did not hurt at all. Not even discomfort, and I had to go back and have it re-done for a suspicious spot. All clear.
I would get 10 mammograms instead of going to the dentist

Your boobs get flattened and squished between metal plates. I think if you have mushy boobs it's uncomfortable but firm boobs it hurts! Mine are on the mushy end!!!

DID hurt me. I have large boobs
I have large bombs and it it did hurt. The breast tissue is so dense they had to do it 3 times on the one side and still couldn't see anything so I had to get an ultrasound, nothing wasn't pleasant about it but its very important thing to get done...

Didn't hurt at all. I even had to go back for follow up which seemed to take all day - no pain on any of them, even with extra squishing for the follow up reads.

I want to Zwanger Pesiri in Stony Brook and it was nothing like I expected in a good way. Almost spa like with how they have the waiting area set up with complimentary beverages and snacks and they give you a spa like waffle robe to change into. They had relaxing music on and everyone was so nice.
And the mammography area was a completely different part of the office where only those getting breast exams were.

I think it's equally appropriate to mention where we went if it hurt like a MF'er! Mine was blinding pain. Like they had to put a cold compress on my head because I was about to pass out. I had it done at Southside Hospital in RVC. Disclaimer: I have a lot of scar tissue in there so that could have been a factor.

Thanks to all who shared where they went (good and bad). I'm calling my insurance company to find out if I can get my baseline. My doc prescribed it hopefully I'm covered even though I'm only 36.
