holding bottles
at what age do kids start to hold their own bottles?
dd is 8 months and has no interest in holding it. just wondering when you stop having to "give" them their feedings
im not trying to rush it at all - i love feeding her shes a little mushball

My DS held it around 11 months and my DD held it around 8 months. I took the bottle away at 12 months with both

DD is almost 9 months and 85% of the time, she won't hold it  diva.

My DD was holding her own bottle all the time at 6 months old.
My DS is 7 months old and while he's capable of holding his bottle he'd rather just flip it upside down and laugh hysterically as the formula pours out all over him.

dd1 was holding it 100% by herself around 5 months, yes early
dd2 can hold and I try my hardest to make her and shes getting better. she's almost 7 months. I try to make her b/c she's all over when drinking lloking, here, there, trying to flip over, she's a nut haha, so it would be a lot eaisier if she held, otherwise I'm holding it and it's never actually in her mouth its dripping all over lol

DD is 6.5 months and grabs the bottle and brings it to her mouth, but that's as far as she gets. After that she can only hold when it's almost done.

around 5 months, but she gets lazy and only wants to hold it sometimes. depends on her mood.
she's also not great at tilting it back, so i often have to help her anyway.

Ds never held his bottle but would hold and drink out of his straw cup just fine. He was off bottles at a year.
Dd is 9 months and makes a half hearted attempt to hold it. She will put her hands on it but if I let go she doesn't hold it up. She too can hold and drink out of her straw cup just fine.

Same here. She will put her hands up occasionally but if i take my hands off so does she and then it falls. She would rather pull her socks off and play with her feet than hold the bottle.

My DS never did. I know he COULD, he just didn't want to. So for 21 months we held it for him.

My DS never would hold it. He was off bottles by 13 months. I wasn't doing that any longer!

DD is 10 months and has not made a single effort to hold her own bottle. Smart girl - why hold it if you can get someone else to?! But she is just about down to 3 bottle per day and I'm savoring that cuddle time with her so it doesn't bother me.

DD has held her bottle for a few minutes here and there since about 5 months, but only one time did she hold it for an entire feeding, and that was just a few weeks ago. She's 12.5 months, so I'm sure she won't ever really do it herself.

This is my DD. Just about 19 months and refuses to. Throws a fit if I even try to suggest she hold it.

my dd never ever held her bottle. she held a sippy cup no problem but not her baba. i guess we spoiled her by always holding it so she never felt the need.

Dd doesn't drink from bottles bc she's BF but she does get water in a straw sippy cup and she just started holding it on her own around 11 months.
