3 hour glucose test
Anyone done it? I've got to go tomorrow and I'm nervous.

3 hour glucose test
I did it last week and failed :(
But it wasn't too bad. I brought my phone and kindle. When you get there, they take your blood for your fasting reading. Then they give you the drink. I had orange for the 1 hour and it wasn't bad at all. I had lemon-lime for the 3 hour and I thought I was gonna puke! Note the time from when you start drinking b/c you have 5 mins to finish it. Also every hour on the hour from when you started, you need to get your blood taken.
The phlebotomist had me come to her every 50 mins in case she was with someone so i could go right in when she was done. When broken up into 50 min increments, it wasn't so bad. My phone and kindle kept me occupied.

There's nothing you can do to prepare other than to bring things to keep you occupied. It's no fun, just hang in there.

The worst part is drinking the solution and the waiting. Bring something to pass the time (book, phone, tablet, etc). I've done it with both of my pregnancies. Both came out normal and I still wound up with GD in my 3rd trimester. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to alter the outcome. Good luck! It will be over before you know it!

This! Thank God I passed because then I would of felt it was a waste of time. But yea, just bring a lot of things to keep yourself busy.

I took it. Bring a snack and water for after. I had the fruit punch and it tasted kinda yummy.
I brought a book with me and a blanket as the waiting room at the lab was freezing!
Make sure they rotate arms when taking it so they don't blow out a vein.

just make sure u fast 12 hrs even if doc dnt tell u just to be safe. Im having mine now. mine is 5 blood tests and with my nausea its rough but doable
