ingrown hairs

I need help. I keep getting ingrown hairs when I shave my legs. Does anyone else suffer from this and found anything to help prevent them? I don't mean razor burn, but when my hairs come back they end up as ingrown hairs. Chat Icon

Re: ingrown hairs

what I found has helped is, I exfoliate after shaving. I use a bath rag some body exfoliation scrub. I seem to get less bumps. HTH.

Re: ingrown hairs

I try and do my legs last when I'm in the shower b/c I feel like the steam plumps the hair and softens my skin, and I'm less likely to get ingrowns.

ingrown hairs

I frequently get one on my inner thigh and it HURTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! so painful. It gets big and purple..awful.

I have found no solution to preventing them.

I do use Desitin on it though after it pops up, and it eases the pain and makes it go away pretty quickly

I get them frequently along my bikini line. I started applying neosporin to the area after shaving and now I no longer get them.

Next time try Vicks vapor rub. I don't know why, but it works!

Re: ingrown hairs

The cause of ingrowns is dead skin cells growing on the hair follicles. Try and use a body scrub everytime you shower to help get rid of the dead skin.

You might want to consider laser hair removal. It is awesome and will get rid of the problem all together!

Re: ingrown hairs

Ugh, I tried it at two different places and it made more hair grow in. Unfortunately for me, I am the % of fair skin and dark hair that it does not work on. I spent $$$$ on it too. Such a waist of money for me.

Here is a link to the Salux cloth available with Amazon Prime thought some of you would rather order there too. Thanks for the suggestion, sounds like something I need to try!!
