I always assume it's a surprise even if it doesn't explicitly say it. Loose lips sink ships...so I wouldn't say anything to the bride-to-be.

I always assume it's a suprise when it's a bridal shower and then ask when I RSVP.

Absolutely assume it's a surprise. I think that at least *should* be a given, although I know many brides these days are very involved with planning their showers. Ask a close friend/family member or when you RSVP.

I always assume surprise for bridal showers. I don't think thay always specify because so many of them are surprises.
