Confused and need some help
I took a pregnancy test and it came up postive . much to our surprise because we did not plan or expect this at all.
i went to my 1st dr apt and at that apt i was told the sac was empty but it could be to early to see anything.
they did blood work and my blood work came back that i was indeed pregnant.
i had to go back for a repeat u/s and blood work and this time was told that the sac is still empty, the yolk is there but no baby no heart beat.
and there is a 95 percent chance that i will be miscarrying.
with all the news i heard today i was so shocked that i didnt have a chance to get my thoughts together to ask any real questions.
so , has any one heard of this ?
i have looked on the internet and some has said this has happened and weeks later they saw the baby and the heart beat. but my dr would like me to go for a d&c next friday.
i did have more blood work done today to reconfirm and get more answers but she sounded pretty certain that i would miscarry..
any info or input please let me know

You may be in the very early stages of a miscarriage. They will be able to base their determination off the bloodwork - if the numbers do not rise or decrease, it is not a viable pregnancy. It truly stinks that it is such a waiting game. Also, try to give yourself false hope from the Internet - I did and still ended up with a chemical. I am so sorry

Are you sure of your dates & how far along you are? I had this happen last year but we were certain of the dates and at 7 wks where there should've been a hb we still only saw sac and yolk sac & it wasn't a viable pregnancy. I'm sorry <hugs>

I was told I was miscarrying with DS. He's 6 months old now. I would request another sonogram before a D&C

Did your Dr give you a beta number? Or just tell you that "you're pregnant"? When was your 1st day of your LMP? Do you have an idea when you might have ovulated?
Personally I would call the Dr and ask if they have an exact beta number. If they do not I would request it. (If you don't know, beta is the exact level of hcg (pregnancy horomone) in your system. In the beginning it should be doubling approx every 48 hours) if they dont have it you would have to have at least 2 more blood tests. At the very least I would request another u/s before making any decisions
Also, why does the dr want to rush a d&c? Is there a reason for not letting you miscarry naturally if that is what's going on?
