Anyone use Dance Odyssey in West Babylon for their 2 year old?

Any feedback? I'm looking for dance schools for my 2.5 year old DD to start in the fall. Dance Odyssey is the only one that has gotten back to me so far and I was just wondering if your DC goes there, if you like them. TIA!

Re: Anyone use Dance Odyssey in West Babylon for their 2 year old?

I live in West Babylon (where Dance Odyssey is located) and I ultimately decided not to go with Dance Odyssey because of the way they conduct their recitals. Every single class is in the show, for 2 nights, at 4 hours a show - too much IMO.
I looked at a couple of other schools, but ultimately decided to go with Divine Rhythms in Babylon Village. My DD has been going there for 2.5 years now and we both love it. When my second DD is 2, I will enroll her there too!
HTH!

Oh, BTW - Divine Rhythms divides up the recital into different shows - so your child might end up in more than 1 show, but the show itself is only 2 hours.

Thanks!! I think I contacted them too but haven't heard back yet. I want dd to do a trial class first but really liked what I saw/read online about divine rhythms.

Re: Anyone use Dance Odyssey in West Babylon for their 2 year old?

My niece goes to Dance Odyssey and she loves it. My DD just turned 2 in May and we are bringing her there starting in July for their summer classes.

I actually am opposite then the pp, I like the fact that they have a recital for 2 days. I think the girls work so hard all year and my niece really enjoys getting on the stage twice. Not only that, but you can only purchase a certain amount of tickets per night, so my brother's family goes 1 night and then my SIL's family gets to go the other night. The recital is not 4 hours though, it is 3 hours at most with an intermission, but I don't even think it is 3 hours.

We go to David Sanders which has locations in North Babylon, East Islip and Ronkokoma.

We started at Divine Rhythms, but I had a few issues with the way the class was run. It was a summer class for 2yrs and up- they allowed a 17m old to enroll and she just distracted the 8 other little girls running around with her pacifier or bottle. There was only 1 teacher in the room (no assistants) and she really didn't have control over the kids. They used the same studio for camp sessions later in the day and they had bins of stuff in the room that the kids would try to climb on and she'd yell at them (they're 2!! There shouldn't be anything in the room anyway!) and racks of costumes and containers of snack foods for the camp. Overall, I felt it was poorly run. Once the kids are older and need less supervision, it's probably fine. Plus, I know they've expanded the studio.

Also, Divine Rhythms JUST started a competition program, whereas David Sanders has been doing well in competition for years. Not a big deal right now (DD is only 3) but I wanted her to have the option when the time comes.

One of my best friends' DD goes to Divine Rhythms and they like it there.

Thanks! I am going to be checking out Divine Rhythms and have gotten their pricing informtaion. I've also contacted David Sanders studio but have not heard back yet. They have no pricing info on their website. Do you know approx what they charge per month?

DDs class was $35 a month- an intro class (She was only 2 in September when it started) no recital. It was just ballet until January, then it was a combo class.

Next year she will be in a combo class that does the recital, I think it goes up to $40 or $45 a month.

I think my friend pays $50 for Divine Rhythms and her DD was in the recital from the first year.
