Another weaning question....

Talk to me about weaning... How do I start? Do I quit cold turkey from boobs or gradually drop a boob feeding every couple of days? (DD nurses about 4x a day now- days im at work 1 feeding is a bottle& I pump) I want her to be on all cows milk by first bday coming in beginning of may. I have 100 oz frozen in freezer; I'm willing to nurse her at night before she goes to bed for a bit longer than a year if need be. Do I give milk (bm/cows milk) in bottle or sippy? This is complicated!!! Any advice/experience/tips for me???

no advice but VERY interested in BTDT mom's because I am in the exact same boat (DS is 9.5 mo's old and BF's 5x's per day though doesn't seem to really love it anymore). Would like wean by 1

Here's what I did:

I used to pump 3x/day at work. Each week, I cut out 1 of those pumping sessions until I was not pumping at all anymore.

Currently, I'm still BFing when I'm home (morning before I leave for work, when babies get up from 2nd nap and right before bed). I'm cutting one of those later feedings out now.

Doing it this way, I really had minimal discomfort!

Mine never transitioned to cow's milk and we're fine with that.

I slowly cut down my pumping sessions just go with what works for your day

Do it slowly. Your boobs will thank you. I BF from the tap, and when I weaned DD1 we cut out one nursing session every few weeks. It took 2.5 months (partly because I was so ambivalent about it) but it was easiest on both of us.
