Magnesium in prenatals?

I was just reading about the importance of magnesium and checked my prenatal vitamin bottle and it doesn't have any Chat Icon

Does your prenatal have magnesium?

Re: Magnesium in prenatals?

I just checked and the one I take has 100mg magnesium. I take a separate magnesium supplement once or twice a week to help w/ leg cramps though!

I read that it is safe to take up to 350mg per day. I've been starting to get leg cramps because I have a physical job- standing on my feet for 8+ hours- so I'm going to start taking 250mg per day. Thanks!

Never knew it was something you were supposed to take....I take Citrinatal Assure and it doesn't have it, very weird!

Re: Magnesium in prenatals?

the one I take that has magnesium is not a prescription prenatal, I take it b/c it has folate instead of folic acid (I have MTHFR issues, so I cannot process folic acid properly).....it's made by Thorne Research, it's called basic prenatal, in case you're interested, I take 3 capsules per day to get the dosage on the label, my OB recommended it b/c their ingredients are pure and since I have a history of pregnancy loss.
