DOE teachers, how did it go yesterday at your school?
My staff dripped in between 8-11. We had a short meeting at 11 and then my prinicpal didn't check up on anyone for the remainder of the day (hint, hint, nod, nod) LOL....she is never like this!
All prinicpal's had to fill out a survey of attendance of their teachers in galaxy.
What about you guys?

I didnt go in but i heard in by 10. 2 hrs to work in classrooms then he held meetings then i think back to rooms. they didnt leave til 220 - normal dismissal or fridays

We had a meeting at 10, then we had to go finish up unit plans if we didn't hand them in yet. At 12:45 we met again and was told to take lunch on our way home.
We signed in.
Our building didn't have heat and it was freezing. They are conserving the oil for next week.

A friend's mom is an administrator in a SI school and they were told to be in by 10am, but at another school bc there was no heat at their school and then they had a meeting and were out at 11am. POINTLESS for the risk!

in at 10 out at 2:20. no meetings, we just we told to "work on our grades." anyone who came in at 8 got to leave an hour early, or basically not come back after lunch, and get to come in an hour late for election day. not happy to go in or use the last of my gas, but an easy day!

DOE teachers, how did it go yesterday at your school?
In at 10, hour lunch, thanked us for coming over loud speaker at 2pm (hint hint ) and out we all went. Also canceled mondays afternoon PD and counted our morning meeting as the PD. My Principal is awesome. Also yes she had to take attendance in galaxy, say if people were there and if they were not if they were likely to show up monday.

DOE teachers, how did it go yesterday at your school?
I went in at 8am because I didn't read the email until my carpool buddy was already here. We were dismissed at regular time (3pm). I was informed that I was running a professional development on Tuesday at noon, so I spent my day coming up with what I'm going to present...

Got in at 10 - left normal hour at 3. Short meeting. Was told to work on grades. Wasted gas to get there :(

I was really really upset that I wasted my gas to go in on friday. our grades are due and the only reason I went in was to put grades in the system since we didn't have power. Our principal only let us do that for maybe 30 minutes... then we had PDs. The meeting started with "I hope you enjoyed your 4 day vacation." People yelled at her, I wanted to walk out crying because this was not a vacation for me. She also made comments about people not responding to her emails people started shouting at her that we have no power....
I was really hurt.

This DOE attitude does not surprise me but I'm sorry you were treated that way.
Our principal was very understanding. We had a short meeting and she said to work on common planning on our grades or with service providers. She also asked us to have a morning meeting in our classes Monday to see how the community is doing because even though it is not a coastal community it is a poor community and there have been 200+ people in the local Sandy shelter. I guess lack of electricity and work is hurting them. Anyway, we got to leave after 4 hrs and 20 min after we got in (the equivalent of 10-2:20). We signed in and out. I wish I hadn't spend that gas to go in but the teachers on my grade made the most of it and got some work done.

Wow. I was actually debating with someone a few days ago stating that many teachers get NO respect from their administrators. This is exactly what I meant! Ugh I'm so sorry and very angry for you   What a turd.

In at 10, had 45 minutes in our room then wrote math curriculum with our grade until 2:40 dismissal.

DH went in at 10 and if I remember correctly, around 1pm his assistant principal popped her head in and asked what he was still doing there. When he left, he realized that most of the other teachers had already left before him.
