With respect to knowing that it was the nanny who committed the crime usually investigators and forensics can tell when wounds are self- inflicted ( hesitation marks, angle etc.).
This is so tragic - it is affecting me so profoundly.

This ENTIRE week has been a series of tragic
inhuman, unthinkable killings -
- cop on Grand Central + hijacked car - shooting (NY)
- 12 year old body in dumpster by 17 year olds (NJ)
- 20 year old 'possible' racial burning alive (LA)
- 15 year old girl Pakistan - shot in head
-suicide bombers (Global)
- an attempt to blow up the Federal Resv (NY)
- this nanny & kids death (NY)
And these are the high profile cases we hear about, Many other crimes are not in the news
We are seeing such a disregard for human life, its beyond sad.
and cap this off with a possible hurricane/flooding etc on East Coast
in a few days ......

Not for anything, but The Scriptures pointed to a time like this. True its not everyone on the planet, but it does seem as persons are like this

@ladyprincess don't forget the cannibal cop yesterday. I thought the same thing too that this week has been nothing but horrific events on the news. Full moon next week. Talk about lunacy

It's weird because a few things don't add upon me but it may just be that the facts arent clear yet or are being reported incorrectly.
For instance, they said that the mom took the middle child to swim class and was supposed to meet the nanny and the two other children at dance class afterwards. When they didn't show up she was worried and went home.
However, a neighbor rode the elevator with the nanny and the kids about half an hour before their deaths and she said the little girl told her they had been dancing...
I am sure the facts will become clearer - it is just so sad.

I am thinking maybe the mom was supposed to meet up with them after dance class- but the nanny took the kids home instead of waiting for the mom

There seems to be a lot of misreporting with this story- they said four people were stabbed, the nanny was dead, then she wasn't, she was going to die any minute, now it seems she's stable, the ages and genders of the kids were wrong, they said the mom was a doctor but I don't think that's the case. With so many stories lately, it seems the rush to publish electronically means the writing's lousy and the facts are way off, not just with this story.

It's not the end of the world. Seriously. As long as there are people on this planet, there will be horrific acts. Horrible, evil, insane people have existed from the dawn of man and will continue to exist for many many MANY more years. We've had highway snipers, nannies killing children, and cannibalism way before we had media and Internet to get the message that its occurring in record time.

There was also a story yesterday of a mother and child murdered in the bronx. the father beat his 1 year old daughter took a Machette to the mother then set the apartment on fire.

absolutely sickening. i read the blog, the mom truly loved and cared for her children. its heartbreaking.
i read some of the comments on one nytimes article, some awful, but one mentioned living a block away and hearing that the nanny and husband had been having an affair which was found out and may have lead to this. no clue at all if its true. but, who knows, maybe that is what sparked it all. no matter what, its just so so so horrible. why kill the kids? just kill yourself...

No... The throat was already slit when she saw the nanny on the floor. She tried to finish the job after she turned on the light.
