Weaning off the swaddle?
Ok, this is all new to me because my DD absolutely HATED to be swaddled! By the time she came home from the hospital she wanted no part of it and went straight into a sleepsack. Now, my DS on the otherhand, is obsessed with being swaddled. He is now 6 months old and we're still swaddling him because he just sleeps so well that way. He has a very hard time falling asleep without it. Nevermind the fact that I'm pretty sure he's been swaddled too long, he is also getting too big to fit in there also so I know we're reaching that time. Anyone else have to wean their LO off the swaddle? Any advice or suggestions on how I can make this transition go smoothly...hopefully

I'm right there with u.. I bought a halo sleep sack swaddle that u can use as a swaddle or sleep sack but I have yet to use it as a sleep sack. DD sleeps awesome bc she is swaddled & I'm so spoiled with my 8-9 hours of sleep a night that I don't wanna de-swaddle. ESP since de- swaddled DD can roll over & that will open a whole 'nother can of worms!!!!! I keep joking I'm gonna swaddle her til she's 10, that I'll wrap her in an ace bandage if I have to! Hahahaaaaaaa

We broke the swaddle over naps first. The girls were 10 months (8adjusted). It actually went so well! We also transitioned them to their cribs at the same time.

I was terrified of stopping the swaddle. Moved DD to a swaddle sleep sack first for a few weeks, then only swaddled one arm for about two weeks. Think that got her ready to have her arms out. By 4 months she was swaddle free and just does the sleep sack now. Good luck!

yes we did and way late too!!!!
I think around 7 1/2 months we did it. We tried many times before that and he would wake up after 20 minutes over and over again.
At 7 months i guess he was ready. We put him a sleepsac and put multiple pacifiers in his crib so he could grab them now and it worked. We were AMAZED.
