GREY'S Tonight
I really liked it. But, there is one editing bit that annoyed me. Didn't they get the year of Callie and Arizona's wedding wrong? The flashback said 2009, but they got married later than that. Wasn't it just last year that they got married--2011?

This is true...for us it was May of 2011, but it may have been 2009 in the show. I know that sounds weird but they run on a different time table to make it realistic about them being residents, It you notice it seems like only every other year they celebrate the holidays, and Shonda has said in interviews that she adjusts the time. However, it could just be a fluke as well and they forgot. I thought it was the Mer/Der wedding that turned into the Alex/Izzy wedding becasue that made more sense as far as time.

GREY'S Tonight
I thought it was one of the worst episodes for Grey's ever. Sloan was a major character and I hated how they just let him die like that. I honestly felt no emotion. When George died I was balling like a baby the whole episode and I really think the way they handled Sloan's death was a disservice and an afterthought. The way that hospital talks about everyone, they want us to believe that the new interns don't know anything about the plane crash and that Mer is now a mean *****. Come on.

I'm glad Arizona's alive but it's not like she can grow a leg back. That's a long term plot.
I like that they showed the endings & then next week will show what happened. Also, they were there for A WEEK!?
I agree with the above...it happened 3 months ago, don't interns watch the news about the hospital they're going to work at ??
If I was an intern, I'm not sure if I'd want to work at a hospital where there was a bomb, a disgruntled patient massacred people & their doctors were in a plane crash.

I really liked it and I am looking forward to next week. I like that we go back, after seeing the now, because it will help fill in some of the pieces, and make sense. The only thing I don't like is that Eric Dane waited until they went on hiatis to tell them he was leaving. I don't know that it would have changed anything, but it might have.
I agree! I am a Grey's fan since the first episode. I don't think it is as good as it was. "I'm just a girl in a bar" but I still love the show.

I have to say that I didnt watch last season at all and now I know why!!! This show is the most depressing show on TV! I used to get sooo upset and depressed after watching that I had to stop. I know some things are reality but I think they take it to another level.. I think it would be nice to see some excitement! Its just so BLah and dreary now.. And the hottest guy just got killed off!!!

I will say that if Eric Dane is going to keep dying his hair and stay clean shaven i'm not as sad lol. Gray haired rough looking Sloan was McSteamy to me. The Sloan in the last 2 episodes of season 8 was like McPlastic midlife crisis Steamy

I agree! Terrible episode, I think I'm pretty done with this show after the killing off of major characters. Everyone wants out of their contracts so I think it's just getting weird. I heard Derek is on his way out also but I'm not sure how true that is...

When George wrote "007" in mer's hand (or was it christina" I cried like a baby.
I was VERY sad Slone died.
I think Arizona is leaving the show too.
But I cant WAIT till next week when we see what happened after the crash.

This episode (season opener) was only 4 weeks after the crash, not 3 months.
Sloans advanced directive said "30 days with no signs of life..."
So it was 3 weeks ago, not 3 months.

This show is playing all viewers for the fool...Mrs.Rhimes must be on some funky cocktail of meds the past few years. If I were an aspiring medical student I would stay far far FAR away from Seattle Grace as history/statistics (a pre-req) prove that it is a deadly game of Russian Roulette to be employed there. You are more likely to be involved in a diaster or worse yet die than get a traffic ticket if working there.
These Dr.'s are the most whiney, self-absorbed, bi-polar "staff" to be seen that it is comical now.
I think they "jumped shark"
I wont go out of my way to watch-they need to go the way of Desperate Housewives now.

I loved it and thought it was a great episode. I knew Sloan was leaving although I thought he would at least make it a few more episodes. I was surprised that they killed him. I don't think anyone else is leaving this year. I thought I read that everyone signed on for one more year and then who knows what will happen. I can't wait for next weeks episode. I love that Alex stayed, I think it's going to be a great season but I have always been a huge fan of the show.

I actually liked the episode and was glad they didn't start the season showing them in the wreckage. I like that they jumped ahead and then next week they will fill in the pieces.
I cried like a baby with Sloane dying :(
The only thing that annoyed me is that they didn't even mention Teddy during the episode. I heard that she is not coming back, but they don't ever mention if she died in the crash or what happened. I am hoping they tell us next week what happened to her.

You are correct. She was offered a job elsewhere and was going to turn it down, but Owen fired her to force her to take it.

You are correct. She was offered a job elsewhere and was going to turn it down, but Owen fired her to force her to take it.
ohhhh! i totally forgot and kept thinking she was on the plane too. That's why I couldn't understand why they didn't even refer to her at all.
