We just came back (well a month ago lol) from The Iberostar Paraiso Maya which is the sister hotel to Lindo...Maya's room are all Jr suite where Lindos you need to upgrade...also guests staying at Maya have access to ALL restaurants on the 4 hotel complex...if you stay at Lindo, you cant use Mayas restaurants...
Both Maya and Lindo share the most amazing pool you will see!!! They have a wave pool, lazy river, amazing water park for kids!!....we went with our almost 4 year old and she LOVED IT! we loved it so much, we are def going back!!
The hotel is also 20min away from Playa del Carmen which we loved!! the beach there is amazing!!!! it also very safe (don't listen to people telling you otherwise) but it is $$$$ not cheap at all...The property is HUGE, lots of walking but we loved it!! the beach is great but in December it will be wavy but dont worry, you will be in the pool all day!
Let me know if you have any other questions...we have been to many Caribbean islands but prefer Mexico hands down!!

I agree..Love this place...went a few years ago and am going back next month - can't wait! I stayed at the Lindo the 1st time but now we have 3 kids so have to move on to the Maya. They don't allow 5 people at the lindo. The prices are super good right now too....we got an awesome deal!
