do we wash the car seat cover?
i want to have it put in sooner than later bc i am nervous of going early

I didn't the first time -- just used some disinfectant wipes on it lol.
I'm thinking about doing it this time because I got a new car seat from the factory and feel like it's more "dirty"/chemically that way than the one I got from a friend.
It's good to know how to take apart and put back the cover... I had no idea how to with our convertible car seat and the first long trip we took, DD had her only poopsplosion in months and it was EVERYWHERE and I had to dismantle it and restring it all. At least since you have two, you can do one at a time and use the other as a model to put it back together.

You can wash the cover but DO NOT wash the straps with ANY detergents, it can compromise the integrity of the straps in the event of an accident.

I didnt wash any of that stuff. I had intended to, but then I went into labor at 30 weeks. and after the 6 weeks in the nicu, washing car seats was the last thing on my mind. If I had to do it again, knowing what I do now, I wouldn't

I washed just the padded inserts that come off easily (velcroed on).

The baby seat I didn't but the toddler seat I have washed. He gets stuff all over it. It's gross.
