I'm really really worried about DD.
At 15 months old her stats were- 18lbs, 29 inches long.
Does that even sound right for a 15 month old? She's always been on the smaller side but this just doesn't sound right to me. She's still 5th percentile for weight at 10th for height. I dont know any kids this tiny at 15 months old. She's a great eater; she eats all her meals and snacks often so I just don't get why she won't gain weight. What am I doing wrong? 
Her ped isn't concerned but I really don't trust them anymore and I think I need a second opinion. Who would I take her to? A regular ped or do you think a specialist. I'm really worried and I'm following my own intuition. I really don't trust her doctors.

I'm really really worried about DD.
I'm not going to lie, that does seem small. My ds was that big at 4 months. At 15 he was 27 and over 30 inches. I would try another ped if you aren't happy. Maybe add pediasure also. If you don't trust your drs you need to find some you do.

i know a child in DS's gym class who is small like your DD. The mother is very tiny also... if it would make you feel better def get a 2nd opinion

Not sure if its normal or not. But you are obviously concerned so i suggest trying a different ped. Even if its just for peace of mind. Good luck. I am sure she is fine

If her percentiles have always been the same, there is nothing to worry about. Some kids are just smaller than others. They worry when kids drop percentiles.

that is very very tiny. Im sorry but I would definately start seeing another ped or atleast just go and get a second opinion. Is she a very picky eater? My friends dd was like this too, very tiny. She is almost 3 now and finally started gaining weight.

I don't think it's too small... At 12 months DS was 23 lbs. and 29.25" tall. He's always been in the 50% for his weight and 25% for his height. I think as long as they stay in the same percentile, it's usually ok.
He's 36 months now and 32 lbs and 36" tall. He's still in the same percentiles as when he was born.

as long as she is maintaining "her" curve, it should be OK.
my niece is this way, 8 months and barely 14 or 15 lbs. She was smaller at birth and looks like a peanut but she has always been that way!
ETA - if you are worried (which you are) speak with a specialist. Maybe a ped dietician or GI?

That seems very tiny to me as well but than again it may be Normal for her. Years ago I took care of a little girl who was entering kindergarten wearing a size 2t. Parents were in denial and the ped kept saying she was fine. However her grandma kept nagging the parents to see a second dr.. When they finally saw a new dr he knew something was off right away. She did have some sort of genetic issue not sure exactly what though. If you don't trust your ped anymore it's time to move on regaurdless if there is any real issue. I would find a new pediatrician and ask them what they think. If you still feel worried than seek a specialist. I hope everything is fine with you're dd!

DS is small too. But he has always been small. At 33 months he is 30lbs and 37" tall. My godson just turned 2 and he is slightly shorter but weighs more than my son and they both wear the same sized clothes. In the beginning I was concerned about his weight but the peditrician assured me that as long as he maintains his curve and doesnt drop percentages he is fine. Neither DH or I are very big people.

My DD is basically the same she was just 19lbs. I think she was in the 6th percentile. My Dr. and several others because I ask all the time have assured me she's fine. She has been in the 3-7th percentile since 6 months. She eats great, plays, reaches all her milestones, etc. I think they are just small. If I remember correctly from the pregnancy board you are pretty small too! It's probably just genetic.
ETA: I just re read and saw the part about not trusting her doctors, if you feel like they are missing something take her to the GI. Luckily, I'm surrounded my great peds (my dad and friends) so I do ultimately trust their assessment, but if I didn't I'd follow up with a GI.

If you do not trust your doctor, then I suggest going and getting a second opinion. It never hurts to take her to a different ped to get checked out.
DD is small too. She eats tons and you would think that she would weigh a lot, but she doesn't. She's always been small and used be in the 5th percentile for heigth and weight and only about 6 months ago did she move up to the 50th percentile. Overall, if she is hitting all her milestones and she is following her curve she should be okay.
Again though, I would suggest seeing another doctor if you feel uncomfortable. Another doctor may offer you piece of mind and a different prespective.

I remember at my DD 2 yr appt I pointed out to the DR. that my 1 yr old niece weighed more than my DD (she was 26lbs - my niece at the time) - the Ped said - Um, I think it is your niece that has the problem not your DD 
Just think if this continues she will never have to struggle with her weight - we are not all meant to be big!

no offense but thats a dumb assessment for a ped to make about a child he's never even seen.

no offense but thats a dumb assessment for a ped to make about a child he's never even seen.

agreed.  my son was 23lbs at 1 year and extremely healthy! now at 27 months, 33lbs and probably the healthiest, strongest toddler i know no bias

This is a shallow remark to make. I guess starving children in 3rd world countries arent really malnourished but really destined to be super models
Small or big, I think we all agree that a child is healthy if they are following their growth curve. I was just answering in OP as to what *I* would do. If *my* DD were that small, *I* would get a second opinion. As I stated in my other post, I HAVE gotten second opinions from doctors regarding my DDs health when I was unsatisfied or uneasy about what they have told me.
I dont think anyone is being overly sensitive here; you are just being hypocritical by implying a bigger child has a "problem" while a small child does not. It works both ways.

This is what I was going to say. My older son was in the 5th percentile for weight and 10th for height from 4 months old until 2 years. Then he jumped up to 15th and 25th, respectively. Our ped assured us over and over that he was fine, as he stayed within his percentile, was happy, healthy, and hitting all his milestones on time or early.

By your logic if there is something wrong at 5th percentile there is probably something wrong at 95th as well!
Follow your own logic. You are the one that implied a bigger child has a "problem"
