transition off formula for 1 year old with milk protein allergy

My DD has milk protein allergy and currently is on Alimentum. SHe's turning 1 soon and I'm trying to figure out what to transition her to. Soy, Goat Milk, Almond milk, rice milk? Or should I try milk again?

Also, if your LO has Milk protein allergy, what can you give your LO in replacement for cheese for the calcium?

I have a ped appointment in 2 weeks but i'm just curious for the time being.

first we did an allergy test to see if she was still allergic to milk
once the results came back negative-we transitioned to whole milk (organic)

We had a milk protein sensitivity not allergy but did fine with lactaid milk.

We transitioned to whole milk without an issue.

We are waiting to go to the allergist first- at 12M-that was the recommendation of the pediatrician at the last appt.

We tried yogurt at 10 months (at the recommendation of the ped and gastro) but he vomited it all up, and then we tried frozen waffles recently (made with milk) and he got diahrea.

It depends on how severe the allergy is. I think my DS was severe because we ended up on Neocate and even with that, it took a good month to get blood out of his stool.

But i have heard other people tried soy first (maybe half soy half formula). We won't be going that route until we get to the allergist.

DS had a MPA and soy allergy. We held off until 15 months on transitioning to milk because he was still showing signs of a soy allergy. Once we switched to milk, he was fine with it. We started off slow. And had him tested after 2 weeks. He is now 2.5 y/o and he has no problems with any dairy. He is still allergic to soy though. I would wait to see what the pedi says...
