For me it was a lot easier the 2nd and 3rd times just because I already knew what to do/what to expect. But I needed to remind myself that each newborn is different and they need time to learn how to nurse.

Not for me - but mainly because I had a 3yo running around and BF (especially in the beginning) is a FT job.

Re: is bfing any easier 2nd time around??

For me, it definitely has been. Simply because I knew what I was doing, it was comfortable for me because I was experienced then. I BFed my first son for 15 months and got pregnant when he was 13 months old. So there was only a span of about 7 months where I wasn't nursing. The pain was WAY less the second time around. The first time, I used Lansinoh cream around the clock for about 3 weeks, I used the gel soothies, anything I could to ease that initial pain. This time, I kept saying "I should probably go buy some Lansinoh" Chat Icon I never got around to it, and it was fine. I never needed it. The pain was so much more mild, and it was over in about a week at most. Like PP said, every baby is different, so there certainly could be issues that will arise with the second that you didn't have to face with your first, so keep that in mind. But my second son is almost 5 months now and thankfully, has had zero issues with nursing thus far. The only thing that was worse this time is that I had a gazillion clogged ducts in the beginning! For the first 8 weeks or so, I was getting them ALL THE TIME! I only had it once or twice with my first. Now I only get them if it's my own fault, like if I was away from him for a while and didn't pump.

i'm sure i'm going to have this problem also.
i guess i'm hoping that all least the pain and cuts etc. won't happen in the beginning like last time...

yes! I had a 3 and 4 year old running around when DS was born and had no problems BF'ing this time around. DS is 13 months and still nurses like crazy.

Yes and no for me. Way easier in that my milk is so much more plentiful. So much easier to pump! With DD I would barely get an ounce. I've been pumping once a day in the morning with DS nursing. I get 4-5 oz a day so I already have a freezer stash. I never had that with DD. It was stressful to just pump enough for when I was at work which was only PT.

Its harder when my DH is working 12-8s. DS is only 4 wks and cluster feeds in the evening. DD is almost 3 and sometimes I feel like I'm not able to give he enough attention. The past 2 nights I gave DS a bath which put him to sleep early. Tonight I didn't and I wish I had. It seems to help a lot plus DD loves to help.
