My mother is French. She was so out of it my Dad picked Heather Rae, she thought I was a boy! My great grandmother couldn't pronounce Heather, so I was nicknamed Raymond!!!!!!

My name is a classic girls name that was always my moms favorite, she almost didn't use it bc I have a second cousin 5 yrs older than me with the same name but ultimately she decided she didn't care and used the name. I like it, although common, I never had another in my class or as a close friend. I personally would pick something jazzy and different like Valentina for myself but prefer my name to the other options.

The girl alternates were Penny and Ivy. I can't remember my mom telling me any names if I had been a boy. Maybe Richard after my dad's brother who died before he was born.

Yup! My great grandmother s also French and it's very difficult to pronounce the TH sound, if at all. Somehow, she came up with Raymond  Even when I go to France I'm called "Ee-zare" . I was also called Little Sam after my grandpa because I looked so much like him I think I'm the wrong gender
