Please be advised....
that starting Monday, my days of commuting on the LIRR and subway will resume. Just when I thought I was out....

Maybe look at the positives:
Time to read?
Work on something just for you?
I don't commute anymore but really miss having time to do these things when I used to ride the LIRR regularly.
Now I'm lucky if I read a few books a year.

I will just repeat "it is just temporary...it is just temporary..." over and over
I will also do anything and everything to avoid the 5:22 (there is no positive spin to THAT train...).

I just resumed the LIRR commute too.
Like another poster said, look at the positives...I dreaded having to do the commute again, but I found some good things about it.
* Time to read
* Napping (I look forward to this almost everyday)
* Time to decompress after the work day

I just started commuting again after being out on leave for 6 months. I get to nap and have read 3 books already. I agree though the 5:22 is an awful train! I have better hours and get the 4:24 which is not too bad.

I actually don't mind my commute (despite my dear LIRR rider posts on FB...). It gives me ample time to wind down from my day before I go home to my kids.
