got to see my little  today...she's already weighs 1lb...such a difference in one month..im 22 weeks last saw her at 18 weeks...i had blood work come back elevated on afp so i get to have sonos every 4 weeks for extra monitoring...so far so good she's measuring perfect.

second kid here.....but its a girl and most of ds stuff is very boyish.....
I created an amazon registry cause it has a completion discount plus pretty much free shipping. and inlaws will at least be able to pick stufff out .
then I have an amazon wishlist for her for the holidays....stuff she can use from 3 to 12 months.even added some clothing sets on it.

Hi ladies
Haven't been on in a while - I'm almost 26 weeks; gained 10 pounds but I look huge (I think)
Amnio and all sonos have been fine - Going back for check up on Monday :)

i can definitely relate - DH posted some pictures of me on FB a few days ago and i felt like a whale. he assures me i'm not, but i dunno - i still see a whale.
i'm starting to think about my baby shower (which i'll have a hand in planning). i'm still not sure if i want to do it at my mom's house or at a restaurant. regardless, starting to look for invitations and favors is fun

That stinks! But luckily it is manageable. I wish you luck! I have my test Monday morning.
Feeling pretty good here. Starting to feel pretty achy in my hips and lower back by the end of the day, but overall I can't complain. Hope you're all feeling well too!

Had my 24 w appointment this week. Everything went well. The midwife at my OB's office said no more sonos for me unless I want to pay for one. I'm trying to convince DH to go for a local deal for a 3d package around our anniversary next month! We didn't do one for DD, but I had a sono at 28 weeks because of placenta previa with her... $90 for another sono doesn't seem like too much... and I feel like we need to go out of our way to do more "special" things for baby #2 because I *know* he won't be getting as many pictures and stuff as DD does. That's always how #2 goes lol. At least I hear.
I feel pretty good. Still nauseous sometimes, but not throwing up anymore. (I'm 25 weeks tomorrow.) Went out today and got 2 pairs of maternity shorts that are super comfy since it's 105 and 106 over the weekend here. :-/ Ick.

Hey ladies! Glad to see everyone is doing well.
I'm just getting ready for the GD test and my first 3rd trimester appointment!
ETA: The NP recommended to definitely eat healthy and well balanced. And avoid sugar and simple carbs up until the test. So I'm collecting some good recipes to make this week!
I do the test in a week during week 27.

Thank you! I was on crutches for about 2 weeks, now I am kind of limping along w.out them as its so hard to get around on them w. my other kids etc. But I am feeling better and happy to be up off the couch! Pretty painful though and I have to be extra careful the rest of the pregnancy since the ligment is stretched out, joy! I will say that it made me appreciate little things like taking a shower a lot more though lol

Sorry to hear that It has nothing to do with how you eat or anything, just how your body handles pregnancy. My friend is on her third pregnancy (and third time with GD) and her husband is a chef and they eat VERY well. Just for some reason, her body can't process sugars properly when she's pregnant.
I take mine at 27 w 6 d -- latest possible date -- on 7/20. Not very excited.
Hope the 3 hr goes well. Sorry you have to deal with it. Do you know what your # was? Sometimes that's a hint as to whether you'll pass the 3 hour.

Good luck on the 3 hr. It's not fun but once it's over it's a relief! When I was PG with DS I failed the 1 hr and was borderline for the 3 hr. I had to do the 3 hr a second time later in the pregnancy b/c DS was measuring big- was borderline again. I wasn't put on any restrictive diet or meds, just advised to watch my carb, sugar & starches.

I also had to do the 3 hour GT with my second baby, and passed borderline. I have to do the test for baby girl on the 23rd, not looking forward to it since I am figuring I wont pass given last time. I did not need any additional testing after passing the 3 hour one. When I had to take the 3 hour I took my kids portable DVD player and a couple of movies, helped the time pass. Good luck!

I was only told to do the 2 hr glucose test, which i ended up failing. yesterday i had a growth sono at LIJ to make sure all is well with baby and she is right on track at 2lb 5oz also, got the meter at the diabetes class last night and started testing. i have to say, it's not as bad as i thought. good luck to all my GD ladies!

I just took the 1hr GT today. I was nervous before but I had such a bad week I didn't care. The NP at the office suggested limiting carbs and sugar so I've been doing that. I get my results on monday. Thank you to all the ladies sharing their experiences.

aww i'm sorry you didn't pass good luck at the 3 hour... fingers crossed for you!!
haha sandra, i'm doing mine at 28 weeks exactly (7/31)... i figure if my enjoyment of food is going to be ruined, i can ruin it for as little time as possible (well really that's just how my appointments fell but hey, it's true!!)
it surprises me how many people think that if they eat well the days/weeks before, it will alter their results - or doctors that say that... the truth is that if you have GD, you have it, regardless of what you're eating.
good luck to everyone who are awaiting GD results or have it coming soon. i know i am nervous as heck - i want to pass!

Totally true!! It's like people want to "cheat" the test... but honestly if you have GD, it's so much better for you and your baby to know and take care of it and be monitored.
Still, I do hope I pass too. I passed during my first pregnancy by a ton, but this pregnancy has been entirely different so who knows. We're going to the beach for a week a week after my test, so we'll see if I have to change my diet completely for that and the rest of the pregnancy. Oddly, though, I've been super craving veggies and salad lately... so maybe that's a good sign? LOL or a bad one.

Thanks for all the luck ladies hope everyone passes their one hour!
Your mama -I had to wait for the doctor to give me the results. They take your blood one hour after the drink and send it to the lab?
On an exciting note, I scheduled an appointment for a 3G/4G sonogram. I'm so excited to see such up and close pictures of our I also signed up for the package where you get a DVD of the sonogram so we can see LO move.
Are we still going to plan a get together at some point?
