Gift for a new cop
If your DH is a cop is there something that they use or need on the job? I'm trying to think of a good gift for a new cop..thanks!

Maybe a St Michael Medallion with his badge number engraved on the back ( St. Michael is the patron saint for police officers) . My DH has St Florian but he is FDNY

my DH loves his good rechargeable flashlight.
That might be something practical.
He also wears thin gloves when handling prisoners- they are thin so he has mobility - kind of like batting gloves

St Michael medallion -- personalizationmall.com has good one that you can get engraved
rechargeable flashlight
extended handcuff key
since they are a new cop and will be on the streets this winter....hand and feet warmers from a place like ****'s or Modell's. (DH loved these as stocking stuffers when he was a rookie.)
Underarmour -- great for cold nights on a foot post.

-My DH just bought earmuffs for the winter, they are called 180's theyre good for details.
-hand/foot warmers from Modells
-thermals
-a gift card to Dunkin Donuts

You can get a personalized cop ornament from the kiosks at the mall with the year he started on it. Nice memory. (If they celebrate Christmas that is!)

We got a relative a gift certificate to "The Cop Shop" near us. Maybe get that person a gc to a similar place nearby...

My brother graduated yesterday and I gave him a check. He has had to spend a fortune on various uniforms and equipment so I know the money will be useful.

I would usually go with St. Michael's medal.
The hand and foot warmers is a great idea, since for many their first assignment could be NYE in Times Square. Another practical gift is a good safe to secure his firearm at home.
