Photographers, plz help!

Hi All,

I need help/ideas on how to photograph my 3 sons for Christmas pictures. I have a 2 week old, 15 month old, & 3 year old. Unfortunately, I won't be taking their pics this year at JcPenney's because I don't want to bring the newborn to the mall yet. So I am going to attempt to do my own pictures this year and make my own cards. I just am not sure how to pose all 3 boys...especially with the newborn and 15 month old...any suggestions would greatly be appreciated, as I am at a loss!!! Thanks!!!!

I would put the newborn laying in something with a blanket, like a basket or an old radio flyer wagon, you get the idea. Then I would pose the older kids behind but not just sitting but somehow so they are leaning into the baby. Does that help? Also try looking on some photography sites and also I look through the card examples on sites to get ideas.

I wouldn't stress about getting a pic of them all together. You know I have a 3 1/2 year old and an 18 month old. We tried for hours and hours to get something decent of them. The older one would cooperate but you can't keep an 18 month old still! In the end, we got 2 nice pics...one of each of them. They are against a plain wall. Our card design is super cute and the pics are zoomed in to their torso on up. There is barely any background showing. The card design is so cute that more of a background would have been distracting. So, if I was you, I'd just get individual pics of the boys and find a cute card arrangement! Good luck! (BTW, cardstore.com rocked...50 cards including stamps, shipped to me, for $20).

Thanks so much for the suggestions, ladies! I appreciate the advice...I know what you mean by your 18monththanksgiving old...that is how my 15month old is! Chat Icon I am going to try and do all 3 together, just because I am combining the christmas card w/the newborns birth announcement. But if I can't get a decent picture, then I will try & don them separately.
