Re: BM Hawthorne Yellow (historical collection) - anyone use?
I have it throughout my dining room and living room. Its a bright yellow and looks best in natural light. We had flurescent bulbs in our lamps but i changed them back to the regular bulbs because it looked terrible. I had a really hard time finding a yellow that i liked and TBH i dont really love the hawthorne yellow.

uh oh...... I hope I like it. It will be for a sun-drenched room w/soft lighting. I hope I have better luck!

We used it in our old apartment. We had high ceilings and a ton of natural light and I really liked it. It went well with the warm toned cabinets and floor. At night, it warmed up the room.
I used the leftover in my DD's room in our house, which was considerable smaller and only one window and I hated it. Way too bright.
So I agree with the previous poster, you need it in a room with natural light. In your case, it should look nice!

we almost used hawthorne yellow in our office but we used a sample and it was a little too yellow for our taste. We went with philadelphia cream instead and really like it. It's still yellow, but not as harsh as hawthorne yellow.

I have this color in DD's room-- I really like the color. I have some pics, but it was right after it was painted, it looks a little different with furniture in the room, etc.

Check out SW Sundew. We just sampled about 20 yellow-ish tones for our den and playroom and loved that the best

Loved the swatch HATED it in our dining room, it got so saturated looked like the color of egg yolk literally. I paid the painter to paint it over in Concord Ivory (a yellowish ivory) another HC. FYI Yellows are really tough when you're painting on all 4 walls of a room gets concentrated big time b/c the color reflects of the opp walls.

I used BM Weston Flax (also in the HC collection) in my den and liked it. I think it might be a shade lighter than Hawthorne Yellow, but on the same strip, if I remember correctly.
I didn't want anything to "eggy" for a yellow, I wanted more of a pale, creamy yellow, and I am happy with Weston Flax. My den gets a lot of natural light, though.

I had a hard time doing yellow, couldn't find the right shade. Wound up going with BM summer harvest

I have Philadelphia Cream in my kitchen and I love it. The room is big, but not overly bright. You might want to check it out. We looked at Hawthorne Yellow for the exterior of our house and it was waaay to yellow for us.

Re: BM Hawthorne Yellow (historical collection) - anyone use?
Thank you all. So my dining room was painted in Hawthorne Yellow and I love it. I'm surprised so many of you thought it was too yellow. It doesnt appear that way on my walls. Unless maybe I need my eyes checked haha. I will post a pic soon.
