I just want to cry!!!
I will preface this by saying that I know in the grand scheme of things this isn't the worst thing in the world buuuuuut.............................
I am SO, SO upset at my DD's behavior this morning. We went to have her holiday pics taken with Heather (Forever Fireflies) and my DD was SO BEYOND awful I was practically speechless. She did everything from roll around, scream, run away to even knocking down Heather's Xmas tree. I was mortified!!! Needless to say, we didn't get one picture. All that time shopping for a dress and shoes and getting her all excited only to have her act so terribly.  It just makes me sad. I've been looking forward to this for months and now we have no pictures thanks to her outburst.
I am SOOOOOOO thankful that Heather was SOOOOOO nice and SOOOOOO patient with her despite everything. I feel terrible for wasting her time today. So disappointing.

 I hate when they have off days when you need them to be all there!
DS was running around like a lunatic at his 2 year pics with Mattson Photography this weekend. He wouldn't sit still. I have no idea how photographers do it but I'm sure you'll be surprised at what she was able to capture!!

Thanks!  She showed me the pics on her camera and there truly was NOTHING worth having. The 3-4 times she got her to look up she was either pouting or had a nasty look on her face. Not really what you want on a Merry Xmas card.  So disappointing.

My dd did the same thing last year!!! We hired a professional photographer to come to the house spent a lot of money too. I was so excited to to get these great holiday pics and my dd was a mess. She hated the dress we put her in. Wouldnt stand still and cried. We got ONE picture ONE. My dh ended up taking a pic of her in her pjs and thats what we used for our xmas card. I dont blame you for being upset. I was too

You could do a naughty or nice themed card!!!  Hopefully she can find one smiley one, even if she's running in another direction!!!

My DD did the same thing last year! Luckily it was just at target, but their scheduling was awful too. Seriously if you knew you were behind why not just call and have the people come later or another day...ughh!
Anyway, we did them again in the sprng for her second bday. I went to party city and got a bunch of balloons tied to a weight and we got some pretty awesome shots.

Heather has the patience of a saint. Seriously.
We've done 3 shoots with her, DD1 has been super brat for 2 of them.
ETA: I Thought we would get ZERO shots for DD1 for those two shoots, but Heather managed to get some great ones.

my DD was not happy when we did Halloween/Fall pics ... she was not happy at all during the halloween ones and during the fall ones she only got happy once i finally brought her to the playground. so i know the feeling. the photographer (all season photography) however did offer me a reshoot since i really wanted halloween ones which i thought was nice of her since it was my DD who was being a pain but i just couldnt make it!

My twins were SO BAD, my son was running around Heather's kitchen and terrorizing everything and all he did was eat goldfish the entire shoot! And all DD did was cry, I don't know how she did it but I did end up with a lot of nice pics but I left there in tears. I think the only time my son was good was when he finally stood still for a minute and watched cartoons with Heather's son!

Ugh.
And THIS is why I can't do it. I can't do a professional shoot- even a target or sears job.
Because I KNOW this is what would happen.
I can bet money on it.
No way would she sit for it and we'd all end up frustrated and time wasted.

I know!! And the worst part is, she was SO excited for the pics!! I was hyping it up all week. She was happy when she walked in, happy getting her dress on and then.............the $hit hit the fan! It was like she flipped a switch! I guess that's life with a 3yrd old!

Then you can imagine MY shock!! I have NEVER seen her this way, and you know Emerson...........she is never beasty but WOW!!.......she gave us a run for our money. I'll keep Chris in mind although I doubt she will cooperate for him either. It's the age, she's all over the place lately. Happy one minute, cranky the next. She has no control over her emotions.

So sorry this happened. Hopefully heather will work her magic and be able to give you some great shots. Some of the best pictures I've seen don't involve the child smiling.

I can't imagine she took money and didn't offer an alternate shoot date or just didn't charge her altogether for anything other than maybe the sitting fee since she gave up her time to be there kwim

Heather was not only amazingly patient and understanding but because there was literally not a single worthwhile shot she didn't make me pay her. I would've gladly paid her for her time and effort because I felt so awful about the way my DD behaved but she was SO nice and said to not worry about it. I was very surprised. Heather is wonderful!!! She really is!
