axid vs zantac?
DD has bad reflux and has been on Axid since 2-3 weeks old, I just switched to the zantac because she has still been having issues. DD will not take it she hates it so I have been putting it in her bottle. Wondering if there is a difference and if I should just go back to the axid??

My son refuses Zantac because of its taste. Someone told me her son did too, and to get it flavored by the pharmacy. I did, but he still thought it tasted gross. I told his pediatrician and she said she prefers to prescribe Axid to her reflux patients because the taste is not as horrific. Try flavoring it. Maybe it'll work.

Thanks I will call the pharmacy and see if they can do that for me, I tried a little and it tastes like peppermint I cant imagine a baby liking that taste!

my ped put dd on axid mainly because he said that zantac taste like taking a shot of liqour.. its nasty lol, axid is more of a sweet taste....

DD was on Zantac and it didnt' work for her - actually made her worse. We switched to Axid and saw an immediate difference.

I could be wrong but these meds should be taken 30 minutes before meal (bottle or solid food) so I'm not sure if you should put it in the bottle. DD's GI said it should be taken on an empty stomach. DD is on pepcid so I have no experience with either. Good luck!
