Port Jefferson Station/Terryville - never lost power. Lost tons of trees in my neighborhood, but not power/cable.

I am in the same area and never lost power but parts of Port Jeff Station are still out.

I never did in Holbrook

I can't imagine there was ever a time where the ENTIRE Island had no power.

I guess I should have posted did any towns not lose power - not wondering about the few houses here and there but, rather entire areas that didn't lose power.

I think most of my area did not. The stop n shop i go to never lost it either- also in holbrook.
A lot of people i know in holbrook did not- but i can't vouche for the whole town

We are in Holbrook, we did not lose power.

I am in Holtsville between Portion Road and the LIE, on the North side of the LIE. I never lost power. And, my parents live in Holbrook off Broadway Ave on Inverness and never lost power either. I have to say, we were very lucky. I feel terrible for all of you that don't have power. Chat Icon

My parents house in Whitestone was fine--no power loss at all.

My house in CT had no power until an hour ago. (no water either, since it's a well.) But we have been at my parents' house, so it didn't affect us too much.

Re: Did any areas not lose power during the storm?

We have relatives in Hicksville and Brentwood who did not lose power. We're in Ronkonkoma and lost power for 3 days. My dad in St. James STILL has no power, and I'm guessing it will still be a while...Chat Icon

Hobrook here too and did not loose power. But I know there's someone on here that is also from Holbrook that did loose power.

I guess it all depended on where the trees fell. No one on my block has trees in front of their house to take down power lines. We were lucky.

And we're about half a mile apart, and I never had more than a 1 second glitch a few times.... it really depends on a large number of variables.

Depending on where the damage occurred, a tree could take out power to only one house, or a thousand houses.....

Re: Did any areas not lose power during the storm?

Parts all over lost power. Some of it was extensive, some not so much. Trees fell on power lines in my area but we weren't affected. Just call the place before you go.

Re: Did any areas not lose power during the storm?

You will find some people loseing power and some not. It was wide spread as it really depended on a tree landing on a line.

looking down a block they lost power and mine didn't untill a different tree took me out.

I'm also in N. Mass and I didn't lose any power. But the people across the street did because a transformer across the street from me blew.
