I know this is wedding related but...
I HATE my wedding video!!! With all the technology nowadays, I have my wedding on a video tape. It's so grainy and horrible. It's been 4 years and I still can't watch the whole thing through. Plus the fact that my videographer stood in one spot the entire night shooting the dance floor.
Thank you vent over....

I know what you mean. DH and I were married 8.5 years ago...can you imagine the quality of that tape? But I think there are places that can covert VHS tapes to DVD's. I'd just be so nervous that they would inadvertantly erase the tape!!! But I'm just neurotic like that!

I think even if I transfer the tape to dvd, the quality will still be bad...

Maybe it can be restored when it is transferred. Ya know, like when they restore old photos? I dunno, give it a shot. See if there's a place that specializes in converting VHS to DVD and see what they can do. Ya never know in this era of technology!

That is horrible- I feel this way about my wedding pics- I finally finished my album since I couldn't even look at the pics to do it.

DH does video/production work for the NY Mets and Affiliations....I believe he does wedding/event video editing on the side - I can ask him tonight for ya!

There is also a place in Plainview that my ex-bf used to do video editing for www.AdwarVideo.com They do more than just transfer to DVD. Their prices are listed.
If you are just transferring to DVD, LL Camera (631-421-5535) 267 New York Avenue, Huntington, NY 11743 is less expensive. I used them to do my own wedding video from VHS to DVD.
The other option is to see if your videographer could make a dvd for you. I asked mine but he wanted $85 to do it.

There are companies that can restore your wedding tape, it might be fixable! If you try find a specialist, maybe www.supaphoto.com, they should be able to fix up your tape and transfer it to DVD or a video you can actually play and you might not hate it anymore ??
