Re: Must have baby items....

I didn't read everyone's replies so sorry if I'm repeating.

--Bright Starts Infant Car Seat Toy: the one with the frog, turtle and mirror (this is the first toy my son absolutely loved)

--Diaper Genie II and a few of the 3 pack of refills definitely

--Snap & Go

--Carter's 5 pack of white onesies (short sleeves / long sleeves for winter months)

--Sleep sacks (not just for now but bigger sizes for later on. Make sure to get fleece for winter, cotton for spring/summer etc...)

--a bouncy chair! (DS would NOT sleep in his crib until he was over 3 months old. He slept in his Fisher Price bouncy chair every night/nap instead.)

--Diapers and wipes!

Re: Must have baby items....

The 2 things I could not live without are 1) fp little lamb swing - dd lived in that and still naps in it a 9 mons. 2) angelcare movement monitors without it I would have never slept!!! Other things were binky, her tub, jumperoo, lots of hooded towels. Eta, snap n go, lightweight maclaren stroller

Aden and Anais Super Swaddle Muslin Blankets. I give these as welcome gifts when friends have their babies - thats how much I love them. They are lightweight to use all year round, wash great, are super cute and are versatile. I have one in the stroller, one in my diaper bag, one for night time use and a spare.

I'm obsessed with these as well. They are the BEST.

These

also the fisher price rock and play, boppy, boumcer and snap and go!!!

I also love the mommy hook to attach my bag to the stroller

eta - if you are formula feeding and using powder get teh dr browns mixing pitcher. i love it!!

Re: Must have baby items....

It's simple:
1) a video monitor
2) a jumperoo OR exersaucer (not both)
3) lots of cloth diapers to use as burp cloths
4) A swing is a definite MUST! I had a swing and bouncer seat 2--in--1 combination - don't spend money on 2 different ones that take up twice the space. Graco makes a 2-in-1.
5) Sophie the Giraffe teether

Do NOT bother with:
1) diaper genie or fancy garbage pail - you'll be taking the diapers out with the regular garbage daily anyway, trust me!
2) wipes warmer - definite waste of $$
3) Bassinet - COMPLETE waste of $$
4) Separate changing table - just put a changing pad on the top of a dresser!

Re: Must have baby items....

Snap n Go
Snap N Go Portable travel swing

Pack n Play with mobile / changing table and diaper set up... so convenient

I haven't used it yet, but I hear the Jumperoo is really great and I have one

Rock n Play - my DD loves this and it saved our sanity since she hated the bassinet and crib

Register for disposable changing pad covers. I use them when I'm out and have to change DD in public restrooms. Very handy

One-piece footed pajamas - they make some that look like real outfits and they are great to wear all day, even out, when the babies are little
Sleep sacks
Fisher Price Rock-n-Play sleeper
Infant carrier/car seat
Snap n Go
Bottles
Fisher Price Rainforest Baby Gym

I'm sure there are others but these are the first that come to mind.

Re: Must have baby items....

DS is almost 6 weeks and loves his swing. He also slept in the rockin sleeper for the first four weeks in our bedroom.

He also loves the Fisher-Price Newborn to Toddler Rocker, I didn't register for it, but got it as a gift from a btdt mom and she was right ds loves it...

We love the diaper genie cause it keeps the nursury from smelling like poops

and our fave diapers are pamper sentitive swadddlers
