Last night

was my first internal!!!Chat Icon

i was actually completely surprised!! i didnt think my internals started until next week!!!

well lets just say i was not prepared! first of all my mom came with me to the apt, and i told her she could come in so she could hear the heartbeat!
second of all i woke up late that morning and did not have time to shave in the shower! i hate going to the dr without being properly groomed, but i just did not have and extra hour to devote to shaving my legs and my hoohaa! (cuz thats really how long it takes me to do that) didnt think it was a problem because i didnt realize i was getting an internal. Chat Icon

but all in all it was quick and not as bad as i expected! it didnt hurt, like stories ive heard.

i am 36 weeks and dr. said he felt the head, but nothing is going on!

i know i still have time, but im kinda hoping to hear that something is going on at my next visit!

it does kinda make you think tho, if the dr can feel the baby's head just by poking around a little, how is it still safe to Chat Icon lol!!

oo glad to hear it didn't hurt.. and yes, proper grooming is a must Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I went out and got a wax before my last appt... only for them to use a doppler Chat Icon Chat Icon

but idk about DTD if the baby's head low.. I'm assuming its safe because they DTD late in your pregnancy will help with labor.. so doubt the baby can feel anything. Chat Icon

So glad yours was pain free!!

I guess I'm in the minority - I had my first internal this past Wednesday at 36 weeks and I thought it hurt a bit, nothing horrible, but not totally painless. Needless to say, I'm definitely getting the epidural!!

I was surprised that my Dr could feel the head! I am not dilated at all, but starting to efface, whatever that actually means. Fingers crossed this Chat Icon decides to make an appearance around 38-39 weeks!!

I'm so glad to hear that it didn't hurt. I too have heard horror stories. I still have a while to go, but at least I have some hope that it won't be too painful. Glad everything went well.

Re: Last night

glad to hear it didnt hurt. sometimes these websites arent good because some people can be pretty dramatic and it scares others. im not saying that people lie about stuff but they can def instill fear amongst other members and taht stinks.

i remember everyone freaking out about the glucose test and the drink and i didnt think it was bad in the least
