did you come home as a family?

When you came home from the hospital with DC #2...did you have DC #1 in the car with you?? I just realized if we do that, then I have to sit in the front and not in the back with the baby which I would prefer.

No. DS was at my mom's and they brought him over when we were home and settled with DD.

I wasn't sure how long checkout would be and how he would behave (he was 2 at the time).

This worked out great!

No, my Mom was here with DD when I brought DS home. It worked out well because this way she was there to help out so I could spend a little extra time with DD.

As of right now, we plan on having DD with us.

We have a 3rd row, so DD will go back there with me and the baby in the 2nd row

Re: did you come home as a family?

No. DS stood with my mom and sister that day. DS#2 was in the NICU and there is only 2 allowed to his station. It would have been one of us with DS and another with DS#2. It worked better leaving him home since we were there an hour just waiting for DS to be discharged.

When we brought DS2 home from the NICU, DS1 was with us. I came home from the hospital earlier than him though so our circumstances were a little different...

Re: did you come home as a family?

My Dh and I just came home with the baby. DD was here with my MIL. I would have loved having her there, but I needed to sit in the back. Plus it was freezing out, and there was no need to drag my 2 year old out. She was weird when we came home and walked in with the new baby though. She didn't know what to make of it.

we're hoping to come home together as a family. I'm OK with sitting in the front.

We came home as a family. Not my preference but not because I had to sit in the front. I wanted that calmness & get settled before #1 came home.

Re: did you come home as a family?

No but that was because DS#2 was in the NICU & DS#1 could not come in there. We had a ton of paperwork to sign on his release day, so my mom stayed home with #1 & waited on our front porch.

Since we have captain's chairs in our truck, I sat in the front on the way home

Nope, DD and DS were home with my mom when we came home. It was so cute to see them looking out the window, waiting for us!

Re: did you come home as a family?

No, DD#1 was waiting at home with grandma. They came outside when we came home, and had made WELCOME HOME signs for us that were hanging in the house.

Re: did you come home as a family?

No. DS was only 13.5 months old so it was just easier to leave him at home. It also took a while for them to come around and discharge me and I didn't want him waiting around.

Re: did you come home as a family?

Yes, it was important to me to come home as a family. And yes, I sat in the front and the 2 kids sat in the back. It made me feel good, as in we were all together as a family for the "first time".

It was fine. No issues. In fact, when I brought DD#1 home, I was annoyed that the hospital made me get into the back seat with her. Even though we had a 4-door car, I found it hard to get into the back seat after having had a c-section. And I didn't really see the purpose of sitting back there with her. We made sure she was safe, and properly adjusted in her carseat before we started driving, so all I did was watch her sleep in the carseat. Seemed kind of pointless to me, IDK, maybe I'm wrong but I just didn't see the purpose.

Re: did you come home as a family?

We had DD at the house all ready w/ IL's. It was just easier getting packed up at the hospital & putting our full attention on DS. (DD was 22 months)

I sat in the front seat anyway (we have a minivan). There's really no reason to sit in the back. :)
