Just when I thought I heard all the rude IVF comments...
This guy at work who just started a few weeks ago said something so hurtful.
We were talking about lead paint because another person I work with told us her dog ate paint. This male co-worker then tell us his cousins grew up with lead paint in the house. He said all of his cousins were sick (all male cousins). He said all of his cousin do now have children yet but have tired with no luck. He believe the lead gave them fertitlity problems. He says to me One of the cousins is going through IVF and you know that is like having a fake baby I said to him what do you mean a fake baby. He said well it is like the guy isn't doing anything to make a baby so it is not a real baby. I told him you are wrong it is still the females egg and the males sperm so it is their baby. He says no the guy can't do it naturally so it is fake. I LOST IT. I said to him "I am going through IVF so when I get pregnant I guess my baby will be fake and not real huh" ....he really did not know what to say. He did one of those UMM UMM UMM and then said oh he didn't mean it that way and was trying to change the subject.

I used to be very timid about this and never talk about it. Now when people ask about me getting pregnant I just tell them the truth. I think my whole experiece has given me more of a backbone.

He's quite ignorant!!
Honestly... those who go through IVF probably DO MORE to get pregnant than someone who had sex and got pregnant!! Between the dr appts, meds, injections, insurance stuff you have to go through, the other steps you have to take to lead you to IVF.
Don't let ignorant people get to you. They aren't worth it. Maybe after this incident he will learn to keep his mouth shut!

WOW!!!! This is really bothering me. What a JACK ARSE. I cannot believe the stupid things that come out of people's mouths but that one just takes the cake. If I were you I would make sure to seize any opportunity to make him feel as stupid as you can for saying that (with dignity of course).
